I help my clients create better working lives. I can offer you a calm, insightful space to think straight, tackling overwhelm, indecision and procrastination by getting clear about what really matters. I can help you shift this clarity into better action, by understanding how to use your strengths and time to be energised and productive. And I can help you find a better balance across your life, bringing resilience, enjoyment and breathing space back into the picture.
Most of my clients are professionals, leaders, entrepreneurs or freelancers who've reached a crunch point where they feel overwhelmed, undervalued, stuck or stale. I offer the thinking space they crave to figure out their next step and how to take it with courage and commitment.
My coaching is based on a firm belief that clear thinking is the foundation for purposeful, confident action. That clarity helps us make better choices so we can feel good about what we're doing (or not doing) and why we're doing it. Sadly, in our busy lives, the space to think well for ourselves is often squeezed out and we pay the price with busyness, stress and frustration.
I draw on a variety of coaching tools and models, working with whatever seems to fit for each person and their strengths and challenges. I'm happy to coach outdoors if walking and talking is the best way forward. Where it might extend and enrich clients' own thinking, I draw on my experiences of senior leadership, freelancing, introversion, juggling work and family life, volunteering and marathon running.
If you are keen to make changes in your life to find a calmer, clearer way forward, I would love to hear from you. If you can think better, you can be better.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained as a coach with Meyler Campbell in 2014 and have coached continuously since then. I'm a certified Thinking Environment™ practitioner and am happiest when helping clients to think well and find the motivation to take action.
I'm certified to use the Lumina Spark psychometric tool and the CAPP Strengths Profile, both of which help clients understand how to work in step with their energy, values and strengths.
As well as running my Thinking Alliance business, I work as an Associate with Dods Training (a leading public sector training organisation), byrne.dean (a company supporting clients to build kinder, fairer and more productive workplaces) and Voice At The Table (a gender diversity & inclusion consultancy). I am also Vice-Chair of Governors at my local FE College.
Previously, I had a 20+year career as a civil servant, including over a decade as a Senior Civil Servant, gaining experience of leading teams and complex strategic issues whilst also working part time and raising a family.
