I coach people who want to make more of their lives - in their career, relationships, health or environment.
Before setting up my own coaching practice, I worked in financial services, local government and the retail industry, where I coached many hundreds of people to be more fulfilled in their careers. What I noticed was: the 'day job' is never the only thing holding a person back from doing what they want! So when I work with clients we take a look at all of what's going on for them that might be a barrier to real success - from developing truly personal goals (not just pleasing others) to creating exciting and creative plans for making desired changes happen.
I have worked with people at all career stages - students, graduates, maternity-leave returners, people nearing retirement. They have included the most junior first-jobber to chief executives; people who act, teach and preach; those in IT, MI, stockbroking, marketing, publishing and communications. Each one of them came to me feeling 'stuck' and together we found what switched them back on.
What can you expect?
During coaching sessions, we will explore the topic you want to cover and I might challenge you to try different perspectives or activities. Coaching is all about change! My clients often find that with some powerful questioning, they uncover beliefs that have been holding them back without them even realising. We will examine these limiting beliefs and create strategies for dealing with them, as well as looking at your values and what your unique strengths and abilities are that you could be making more of. It's fascinating to take 'inner journeys' and find out more about you - what makes you tick, your passions and desires - which can so often be squashed down as we go through life, to the point where we forget what's important to us. That's when we start to feel 'off track'; coaching helps you rediscover your own path and how to get back to it.
How it works: the logistics
If you think you might be interested in coaching but you don't know what's involved, I always suggest we meet for a chat - either face to face, on the phone or by skype. I'll ask you some questions about what's going on in your life that you'd like to change and will give you a 'taster' session on your goal, helping you to connect with the feeling you have around whatever success means for you. That way, with no obligation to commit to anything else, we can both decide if we feel like we're a good fit for each other.
If you'd like to go ahead, we will agree how often your sessions will be (weekly, fortnightly or monthly), for how long and at what time. I am happy to negotiate on rates for people on lower incomes, and I usually ask for payment for the first session upfront and then invoice for subsequent sessions. I take Paypal or direct online payments.

What people say about me
“Kate is a very intuitive coach whose enthusiasm and encouragement really provides a safe environment to seek clarity and understanding about what you really want to achieve. I felt instantly at ease when working with Kate. She helped me to focus on what I wanted to achieve and what I needed to do next to make it happen. Her vibrant and energetic approach is really refreshing and brings a positive energy that enables you to really take charge and discover your full potential.” N.A.
"Kate has done an amazing job coaching me through the early stages of my career. Kate tutored me as I rolled off a graduate scheme into my first permanent role. She helped me understand myself much better in the workplace, getting to the route of how I can climb the corporate ladder. She listened, was understanding, and aided greatly in my development. Kate didn't offer sound advice; she probed me to discover the advice for myself, which is much, much more effective than someone telling you the answers. I would thoroughly recommend Kate for coaching in any points in your career or life." C.T.
"A very intuitive person who seems to quickly get in tune with what is going on. She is able to ask the right questions to bring a creative feeling around the subject. A place where you can see new insights and new directions. Kate has great presence and relays a sense of confidence. ." T.C.
"When it comes to people, Kate is a natural! She has a strong passion for seeing others achieve their potential, and this made me really believe in myself. Kate brought out the best in me and I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with her. Through her coaching and support, I am more confident in my capabilities and have more clarity around my goals and motivators." W.O.
