About me

I am a qualified Travel and Personal Development Coach, using the methodology behind various approaches including positive psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Law of Attraction and NLP.

Prior to the first session, I will send to you, via email - a self evaluation form which you will need to return to me before the scheduled session. This allows me to ensure that the session is tailored to your requirements, and so we can jump straight in and make the very most out of the time you have with me.

Aside from being a qualified and professional coach, I am also lucky enough to be a frequent solo female traveller and digital nomad.

Back in 2015, I experienced what I call a pivotal moment in my life. I experienced heartbreak, I was in a lot of debt and to top the year off, I had a miscarriage.

I dealt with this, by not dealing with it at all. You see at some point in the past, someone came up with this ridiculous saying… don’t worry there is always someone worse off than you. The truth is, every single person is unique, we are all very individual, which means our capacity for emotional pain is different. Something that I find painful and traumatic, another person may not have the same experience as I have. And vice versa. 

I did myself a huge injustice by not acknowledging my pain and not allowing myself to properly grieve my loss. Instead I refused to talk about it and pretended I wasn’t bothered. 

Of course when you push pain inwards, it can't go anywhere, so it grows and you become sick and for me, by mid 2016, I was in a bad way. 

I felt worthless, lonely, sad and the darkness, in my heart and mind was crippling me, I was questioning what the point in living was.

I remember sitting on my bed, crying and I just wanted to know how to be happy. 

On the 18th of October 2016, I was sat at London City airport at 5 o'clock in the morning, trying not to throw up as I repeatedly told myself this was a good idea. I had quit my job, sold my flat and car and now all I owned was the gigantic suitcase that I dragged along behind me. I was doing it. I was on my own and I had no idea what was going to happen, but for the first time in a long time, I felt liberated and excited. 

After a series of unfortunate events, I had found myself in a low and dark place. I felt unfulfilled, lonely, stagnant and without a purpose. I needed to get as far away from my life as I possibly could and figure out who I was and what I wanted. The original plan was to spend 6 months in Panama, I was going to write a book that I had started years before but never finished and beyond that, no idea.

Why Panama? I saw it on season 3 of Prison Break and I thought, that looks cool. Not the prison part, obviously - that would be weird! 

However, the universe had a different plan for me and by this point, I had completely let go. I had told myself that I was dropping all expectations, because quite frankly, my pre-planned life hadn’t panned out the way I’d hoped at all, so now I was handing the wheel over to something else and I am so happy that I did, because I actually spent 6 months backpacking through Central America. 

I ditched the suitcase and multiple pairs of shoes *sob, and brought myself a backpack and during those six months, I visited Panama, Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico and Colombia. 

I learnt to surf, scuba dive, (I cruised along with a hawksbill turtle and instantly my appreciation for this incredible planet just exploded), I hiked up a volcano and boarded down it. I spent weeks at a time on beaches. Beach parties, sunsets, sunbathing. I saw incredible places and made life-changing friendships. I swam with a whale shark. I swam with wild dolphins and released baby turtles into the sea and above all else, I got to know who I was, without all my conditioning. I got to seriously think about what I wanted to achieve with my life and the impact I wanted to have on the world.

I continue to travel, mostly alone and for shorter periods because I have fallen in love with the person I become when I am discovering my place within a new culture or in the conversations with new friends that grew up in a completely different country to me. I fell in love with the strength and independence that I developed as a solo female traveller.

The Association for Coaching is one of the leading professional bodies for Coaches and Organisations.

The Association is made up of a number of different membership categories, e.g. Associate Member (AMAC), Member (MAC), Accredited Member (AC Accred), with the different categories standing for different levels of training and experience. Accredited Members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

The Association has a Code of Ethics & Good Practice and a Complaints Procedure.

Other areas of coaching I deal with

Once upon a time, there was a room full of cats. The problem was they didn’t know they were cats.

One day, one of the cats said out loud, I really wish I was a cat. I want to be a cat more than anything in this world!

Some of the other cats heard this and they said - me too, I want to be a cat! How can we become cats?

I know, said one. Milk, we need milk. If we drink milk, we will become cats.

Well, the milk didn’t work. Nothing changed, they still felt the same.

One of them suggested, let's go out and roam the streets at night, get high on catnip and start catfights. It’s gotta be worth a try!

So off they went, trying to find a way to become a cat… 

One of the cats had gotten so fed up with trying to be a cat that he decided to go out into the world and see if he could find out the real answer himself.

The cat decides to go further from his home than he had ever been before in search of the answers he seeked, and on his journey he meets so many other animals and learns about them, where they're from, the different ways they live their lives and soon his paths cross with a real life cat.

He told the cat how much he wished to be a feline too! 

The ‘real’ cat did not question or judge the cat for not realising who he was and the potential he had, instead, he decided to take the cat on a journey of self discovery - out of the city and into the beautiful forest and along the way, the 'real' cat would ask him questions like, why is being a cat important to you? And, if you were a cat, show me how you’d walk and meow. During his quest, the cat was becoming quite impressed with how easily he could do these 'cat things.'

Eventually, the truth-seeking cat found himself standing next to a beautiful still lake amongst the calm and tranquil trees - feeling a bit thirsty he decided to go and have a drink. As the cat reached the edge of the lake, it sees its reflection in the water. 

Holy crap.

I’m a cat. 

He turns to his companion and says, when did this happen? When did I turn into a cat?

His new friend replies, you have always been this way, you just needed someone to help you to see it for yourself. 


That's a nice story isn't it? I hope it helps you to understand that we are no different from a cat in pursuit of becoming a cat. We just need a little help sometimes to see ourselves and our purpose in a new way.
