About me

Are you feeling a bit overwhelmed, a bit disconnected?

Hello, I’m Catherine Jacobs, CPsychol. I offer psychologically informed life & relationship support Coaching, which can help you build healthier communication, clearer boundaries, and stronger support systems so you can feel grounded, connected, and confident in your relationships. Together, we unpack the patterns that hold you back and create real, sustainable change - in how you show up for yourself and the people you care about.

I am an experienced coach with a background as a chartered research psychologist, supporting clients who want to deepen their self-awareness, strengthen their relationships, and build meaningful social support.

My approach is grounded in good practice. I offer coaching (not therapy) in a space where trust and safety come first. I work with clients across all life stages. My focus is on helping people understand the patterns beneath the surface, communicate with clarity, and create sustainable change in the way they connect with others and themselves.

My key focus areas are:

  • Relationship clarity and communication
  • Navigating conflict in a grounded, safe space
  • Strengthening friendships and social networks
  • Rebuilding confidence after relational stress or change
  • Understanding emotional patterns and attachment
  • Creating healthy boundaries
  • Returning to connection after isolation or transition

I specialise in supporting individuals who want to strengthen their relationships and build healthier, more resilient social support networks. Whether you’re navigating challenges with a partner, family member, colleagues, or friendships, I help you understand underlying patterns, communicate more clearly, and develop the confidence to create meaningful, supportive connections. Together, we look at the broader ecosystem of your life - your personal relationships, community, and professional environment. We’ll identify what nourishes you, what drains you, and how to cultivate the kind of connections that sustain your wellbeing.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a fully qualified, insured coach accredited with European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) to the Senior Practitioner level. This high standard means I maintain regular individual and peer supervision and undertake ongoing professional training to ensure my practice reflects current highest standards to provide my clients with a high-quality, ethical coaching experience.

I have a background in research psychology and am chartered by the British Psychological Society, where I’m also an Associate Fellow. I bring over 30 years of this experience in which I focused on building resilience and increasing understanding of how our social support systems shape our lives. In life coaching, I use this knowledge to help my clients uncover what’s holding them back, leverage their strengths, identify patterns and work together to design practical steps toward the life they want.

What my clients have said about me.

My life coaching and executive coaching clients consistently describe our work together as insightful, grounding, and transformative. They value my ability to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where they can explore challenges honestly while being gently guided toward meaningful change.

'I found Catherine to be an extremely effective coach, beginning with an unstructured approach that allowed us to explore objectives, and building an open and trusting relationship in a relatively short space of time. Catherine is an extremely attentive listener with a wide repertoire of coaching vocabularies and approaches and the ability to switch between these to tailor her advice to the problem and context at hand. As well as practical tools that I am putting to use in my everyday work, I have gained a much fuller appreciation of my motivations and preferences at work and how these relate to more foundational habits and dispositions, thus affording me a way into further self-reflection and development'.

'Working with Catherine has been transformative. Her background in psychology, combined with her deep understanding of attachment theory, brought a unique richness to our sessions. I felt completely listened to and understood throughout. Catherine allowed me to explore both work and life challenges with a strong grounding in my story, my values, and my motivations – helping me to develop insights that enabled me to reframe situations and to generate ideas and actions to support my professional development in line with who I am. The space she created gave me the confidence to move forward: to overcome inertia, make clear decisions, and take positive risks that have significantly expanded my professional world. Catherine helped me to navigate difficult situations with positivity and agency, and also to discover new possibilities for growth.'

'Coaching with Catherine was a unique personal and professional experience. She is very skilled in tuning in quickly and getting to the nub of issues. I felt understood but never judged and really valued. Catherine’s sharp insights and the way the sessions made me feel energised'.
