My coaching practice has evolved over past 20 years, encompassing experience gained through roles as Sales Director, Senior L&D positions within large organisations, consultancy and my own business. The focus in all of these areas has been in helping people to enhance their performance and results in all areas of their life.
My background? I trained as a psychotherapist and integrated those skills with business and life coaching so that I could work in a more integrated way with people. I am a Mindfulness Teacher , trained at the world renowned centre for Mindfulness,Bangor University and hold 8 week MBSR programmes to help people develop skills that bring balance, better perspective, develop better relationships with themselves and others and enhance well being.I am accredited to deliver a range of psychometrics, an NLP Practitioner; voice dialogue practitioner amongst other skills aimed at unlocking people potential.
What is Life Coaching
The world is changing faster than ever before. Every aspect of our lives is changing, the way we shop, work, are educated, communicate, socialise. When there is so much change happening it is easy to lose our sense of direction and purpose.
Most of us are aware of what it is we don't want in our lives, but we are not always clear on what we do want, or what we need to do in order to make changes.
My Coaching Style
Coaching is a confidential 121 relationship between two people. I will work with you to clarify your goals and help you to determine how to best achieve them.
It sounds simple and indeed it is, however in this increasingly busy world very few people have time to stop for long enough to reflect or “see the wood for the trees”. This can result in feeling stuck in a rut, repeating the same mistakes, having a poor work/life balance and feeling out of control.
Coaching is about many things, however, principally it is about behavioural change that benefits you at home, at work and the results that you achieve. In effect it addresses the whole person which tends to result in sustainable change rather than short term fixes.
Coaching is not therapy or counselling. I will have faith in you, listen to what you say and also what you don’t say. I will challenge your thinking with questions to encourage deeper self awareness. I will be flexible and am able to offer tools or models where appropriate to help you explore your personality, thinking or problems.
The agenda is always yours and you should always feel that you have been truly heard although you may have had to work hard along the way.
Once I receive your enquiry I will send you a Discovery Questionnaire so that I can learn a little about you before our first session. The questionnaire will also enable you to focus your thinking and increase your self awareness. We will then begin with an initial free, 30 minute telephone or Skype session, where we will explore your responses to the questionnaire and discuss your goals and how us working together will help you achieve them. We will then agree a contract that will enable us to stay focused and support you in moving towards your goals.
The coaching programmes are delivered in sessions of four - the first session will be a 60 minute face to face session ( if practical) in which we will clarify your goals and establish the outcomes of coaching for you; followed by three 60 minute face to faces or 45 minute Skype or telephone sessions ,approximately 2 weeks apart. The real coaching happens between the sessions when you take the understanding and increased awareness gained through our conversations and you take actions that we will build on in each session.

My training as a coach has been formed through many different influences including NLP, hypnotherapy, pschodynamic counselling, working with inspirational trainers in Hawaii on Voice Dialoging before completing a formal coaching qualification with the CIPD. Other qualifications I have gained have been to help raise self awareness through psychometrics and personality questionnaires.

The Association for Coaching is one of the leading professional bodies for Coaches and Organisations.
The Association is made up of a number of different membership categories, e.g. Associate Member (AMAC), Member (MAC), Accredited Member (AC Accred), with the different categories standing for different levels of training and experience. Accredited Members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
The Association has a Code of Ethics & Good Practice and a Complaints Procedure.

In the world that we find ourselves living in currently, there will be much uncertainty, worry and fear about all aspects of work and life. It is during these times that additional support can be valuable. Having a talking partner to help you to work through your challenges or to simply voice your concerns cannot be underestimated.
During the Covid-19 crisis I am providing online mindfulness sessions, every day from 9:00 am for 20 minutes to help share the skills of controlling our active minds in times of crisis.

For anyone in need of help with direction, I totally endorse Carroll's service. Carroll's 1-2-1 sessions came at a time when I was facing a major cross road in my life. I needed someone to help me understand what was right for me, without any agenda.
