About me

I’m Amy, BWRT Psychotherapist and ADHD Coach specialising in the unique and nuanced presentation of ADHD in women.

I don’t work with women who want to fix their ADHD, rather I work with women who are exhausted from trying to hold everything together.

The ones who look capable on the outside but feel chaotic, emotional, or permanently overwhelmed on the inside.

The ones who people-please, overthink, say yes too often, and then collapse in private.

I know that experience because I’ve lived it.

I’ve spent over 20 years navigating my own ADHD in systems that weren’t built for my brain — school, work, relationships, professional environments that rewarded burnout and punished sensitivity. I know what it’s like to be told you’re “too much”, “not trying hard enough”, or “wasting your potential”, while secretly wondering why everyday life feels so hard.

I also know what it feels like when your hormones hijack everything.

Many of the women I work with notice their ADHD symptoms intensify dramatically at certain points in their cycle — irritability, emotional overwhelm, brain fog, shutdown, rage, shame. Research suggests PMDD is up to three times more common in women with ADHD than in the general population, yet so many women are still told it’s “just anxiety” or something they need to cope with better.

In my work, we don’t ignore that. We work with it.

My approach is trauma-informed and psychologically safe. That means we focus on nervous system safety before strategies. I won’t hand you another planner, push rigid routines, or expect you to override your body to function. Instead, I help you understand why your brain and body respond the way they do — and how to build a life that supports you rather than constantly drains you.

I’ll challenge you, but never shame you.

I’ll help you rethink ADHD, not change who you are.

And you’ll finally have permission to listen to your body instead of the well-meaning advice of people who don’t live inside your nervous system.

If you’re scattered, stuck, burnt out, and often thinking, “Why does this feel so much harder for me?" - you're in the right place. And you’re not alone.

It doesn’t have to stay this way.

I offer an initial consultation at £60 - this is deducted off your fee if you book in for 6 or 12 weeks of support.

Alongside my 1:1 ADHD coaching and group support programmes, I’m passionate about creating local and online spaces in Stockport, Manchester, and Cheshire where neurodivergent women can move, connect, and thrive. From movement for every body, to creative workshops, wellbeing circles and community meet-ups, my work is about belonging over beige self-care.

I’ve also shared my story and insights on several wellbeing and neurodiversity-focused podcasts, speaking about ADHD, burnout, and how rebellious wellbeing can help us rethink our lives with more compassion and freedom.

My approach is shaped by lived ADHD experience, psychology, and years on the frontline — and I’m on a mission to help women break free from overwhelm, people-pleasing, and shame.
