Can emotional pain lead to a positive breakthrough in life?
We may not like it, but we can use emotional pain to craft a better life. However, not everyone has that attitude towards it – it’s all down to perspective.
Here are three reasons why emotional pain can be a teacher:
1. It can propel you forward
Emotional pain can propel you forward as it forces you to take action. It tends to push you when you are unhappy with where you’re at. When you don’t feel happy, what do you do? You will most likely take an action to move on from it.
You are more likely to make good, positive progress after emotional pain than if you are comfortable, where everything feels ‘fine’. Feeling unsatisfied can give your life a massive jump-start.
2. It can make you grow
Although experiencing emotional pain can be really tough, you won’t appreciate pleasure as much without it. It supplies you with life lessons that can help you grow as a person. Dwelling on the past doesn’t help, neither does asking yourself why it happened.
This quote explains relationships very well; “Whatever relationships you have attracted in your life at this moment, are precisely the one you need in your life at this moment.”
If you’ve broken up with a partner or fallen out with a colleague, it simply gives you the opportunity to learn from what happened and grow as a person.
3. It provides you with motivation
Pain can be the best motivator. It challenges you to make changes in your life to make progress, whether you like it or not. It motivates you to change what’s happening in your day-to-day life to make meaningful progress.
Emotional pain can be seen as an indicator that something is wrong and that it needs changing. It’s uncomfortable but it can inspire and motivate you to do wonderful things.
