The menopause, is it just your hormones?
I applaud that as a society we are discussing ‘women’s problems’ as what used to be a taboo subject.
This, along with mental health being now openly discussed, identified by employers and being well-recognised by society is only a good thing; however, it seems as though the menopause is an on-trend subject. I have noticed that many are branding any ailment and declaring ‘Whoops, must be the menopause, my menopause brain’. There is no doubt some truth in this but I am here to ask, is it just your hormones?
If you are sinking into being a victim of your hormones then taking back control might not be the cure but it will most certainly help. Feeling out of control, insecure in yourself and focusing on the problems will only escalate the feeling of anxiety and hopelessness.
HRT is often the knight in shining armour. If this works for you then fantastic but it is not the only solution. It is your body, your choice. Listen to your intrinsic voice as to what is best for you and do not be persuaded otherwise. We are all individuals and it is not a one-size-fits-all, do your research and do what feels right for you.

Control is key, whether that be diet, supplements, stress management or medical, not slipping into “I am a victim of my hormones” is where you have power. The mental confusion, brain fog, poor sleep hygiene, self-confidence, and managing anxiety, panic and depression are where working with a coach could be extremely beneficial to both your mental and physical well-being.
In today’s society and culture women juggle so many responsibilities, to survive and self-care is essential. Troublesome as the menopause might be, it is a rite of passage, a natural transition, to provide yourself with the right support and ample tools that will aid your mind, body and soul.
Managing your mental health, limiting stress and controlling your fight or flight response is paramount to your career, relationships and most importantly your health. Learning the tools will empower your health and confidence and enable you to be happier.
Anxiety is a fun sponge and living in a state of despair and survival mode will rob you of your happiness. If you are experiencing high levels of stress then it is almost impossible to think logically and creatively and have enjoyment. Most of all it is physically and mentally exhausting. You deserve more, happiness is your birthright.
In our society, women can often reinvent themselves several times throughout their lives. The menopause is another opportunity to do this, rather than grasping onto days gone by you could, with the right support, step into a new life, a new you.

By reviewing your values and setting new boundaries, you can decide what and who is important and conserve your energy.
