Is this all there is? Steps to creating a life you love
You look in the mirror and ask yourself, “Is this all there is to life?” The unease, the unfulfillment and unhappiness set in and then the guilt. The guilt that follows because you know that you “don’t have it as bad as others”, and now here comes our other close friend, shame.

Now you are spiralling into the guilt and shame tornado, but have no idea how to get out. You could not possibly tell anyone how you feel because you do not want to be ‘that person.’ That ungrateful, whinging, unhappy downer. So, you tell yourself you should be grateful and to just “get on with it”, and so you do. The days, the months, even years pass, and nothing changes. The sense that there should be more to life than getting another degree, going to work, climbing the corporate ladder, paying bills, and dying.
Nothing changes because nothing changes.
Then one day, you just get so sick of hearing yourself complain, you decide to take action. You are not sure what to do, how to get out of this rut, but you know you cannot do it alone.
Newsflash! We are not meant to do this life alone.
This is exactly how coaching can help you. Identifying the areas you are feeling stuck, lacking confidence and clarity, and the limiting beliefs that are keeping you small and unhappy. By using different methods and tools to help knock the needle, we get you moving, unsticking! Incremental steps lead to monumental change. The beauty of coaching is that this process does not have to take a long time...
... If you do the work!
It is your decision; it is your choice. You do the work, but you do not need to do it alone.
How do I know? I was all those things. I hired a coach. I did the work. I now help others to live a fulfilled, passionate life, embracing who they are at the core and not apologising for it.
Life is short and fragile; it is time to go do the very thing you know you are meant to do.
Top tips on how to get started
What do you want?
Listen, I get it. I ask clients this all of the time, and they stare blankly at me... At first! Close your eyes, take a deep breath. What do you see? Spend some time alone. Visualise. What makes you happy? What is success to you? What do you truly want?
I believe we have a knowing. It's tapping into this knowing, and you can't do that when you don't slow down.
Start small
Big changes can feel overwhelming, so break them down. You don't need to plan five years in advance. Pick one thing to tackle each day. That's doable, right? Whether it’s going for a walk or trying a new hobby, those little wins add up and keep you motivated!
Keep it positive
Your mindset can really change the game. We hear this word thrown around, but I promise, it's there for a reason! I started this practice every morning – three things I'm grateful for, then I jump out of bed (or as fast as my 54-year-old body allows). Maybe just spend a few minutes each day thinking about what you’re thankful for. Surround yourself with positive vibes and people who lift you up. Seriously, this is my number one piece of advice (I should have put it at number one!). Get rid of the energy-draining vampires!
Get support
Hire a coach! Sometimes, we all need a little help. They can help you figure things out, keep you accountable, and cheer you on as you make changes.
Finally, after you do all these things, check in with yourself! Every now and then, take a step back and see how you’re doing. Are you moving toward your goals? If something isn’t working, don’t be afraid to switch it up. It’s all about finding what feels right for you! There are no rules, no matter what people say.
If you do some or all of these things, you are taking some action to move forward. Knock that needle! It's not easy, but if it were, everyone would do it, right? But staying where you are, that sucks. You choose.
