This Assertiveness Workshop gives you the guidance, tools and mindset you need to become more assertive and build self-confidence. This will help you to achieve greater work effectiveness whilst having more control over your daily activities and ability to overcome difficult work and even personal situations.

Being assertive is about being able to express yourself with confidence and without having to employ passive or aggressive tactics or unhealthily manipulative behaviour.

By developing assertiveness you can be more effective and successful in work situations.

Assertiveness training elements include:

What is Assertiveness? - a series of activities that help you understand what assertiveness is and what it isn’t.

Assertiveness goals – this is a chance for you to review what your key challenges with assertiveness are and what you want to get out of the session.

The Assertive mindset – a look how we need to think in order for us to naturally and easily react assertively and confidently.

The Assertiveness toolbox – key assertive strategies and techniques for dealing with assertively with work situations, such as:

  • Recognising manipulative, passive-aggressive and aggressive responses and what triggers them.
  • Dealing with aggressive, passive-aggressive and other manipulative reactions in ourselves and responses from others.
  • Dealing with criticism assertively.
  • Giving assertive feedback.
  • Negotiating assertively.
  • Setting expectations.
  • Assertive body language and voice tones.
  • Managing key relationships assertively – such as with managers, team members, colleagues, clients and suppliers.

The Assertiveness Experience – exercises to foster self-esteem, confidence and assertiveness.

The Assertiveness Action Plan – delegates commit to their own personal development by creating an action plan that will help them establish and reinforce assertive habits.

You  will go away with

  • More confidence and skill to deal with situations and people assertively.
  • A delegate workbook you can use to review the workshop content and help you apply the tools in the future.

What’s this Assertiveness Workshop like then?

  • Well, you’ll be one of a maximum of six people who have been experiencing the same challenges and feelings as you.
  • You’ll all be looking to change your thinking and discover new skills.
  • Because it’s a small group, it’s not just a dry old theory dump – there will be plenty of time for supportive and thought provoking discussion and practice.
  • You’ll leave the workshop equipped with a motivating personal action plan that will help you transform your level of assertiveness and your results, straightaway.
  • You’ll also have a  workbook to help you recall and review the tools and tips.
  • There will be refreshments when you arrive and during the workshop breaks.
