About us
Hello, I’m Ruth.
I offer The Clarity Hour, a one-off coaching session for people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, uncertain or caught in overthinking and want a clearer sense of what to do next.
You might not be looking for a full coaching programme or want to commit to months of sessions. You might simply have something that has been taking up too much space in your head, and you know it is time to give it proper attention.
The Clarity Hour is designed for that point. It is a focused 60-minute coaching session where we can untangle your thoughts, understand what is really going on, and identify a practical next step.
How I can help
People often come to coaching because they know something needs to change, but they are not sure what that change looks like yet. Sometimes it is about work or career direction. For some, it is about confidence, motivation, life balance, a business idea, or a decision that feels difficult to make. Sometimes it is simply a sense of being stuck, restless or tired of thinking about the same thing without moving forward.
You may have been carrying the same thoughts for months or even years. You may have talked yourself in and out of several options. You may have searched for answers, waited for the right time, or hoped the next step would become obvious. If you could have easily thought your way out of it alone, you probably would have done so by now.
Coaching gives you a different kind of space. It allows you to slow down, hear yourself more clearly, and look at the issue with support, structure and challenge. The aim is not for me to tell you what to do. The aim is to help you understand what matters, what is getting in the way, and what you can do next.
What you can bring to The Clarity Hour
You do not need to arrive with everything neatly worked out. Many people begin with something like, “I don’t know exactly what I need, but I know I need to talk this through.” That is a perfectly valid place to start.
The Clarity Hour can be used to explore things such as career change, confidence, personal development, work/life balance, business clarity, decision-making, motivation, procrastination, life direction, or feeling stuck. It can also be useful if you are at a transition point and want to understand what you want this next chapter to look like.
You might come with a specific question, such as whether to apply for a role, make a change, start something, stop something, or take an idea more seriously. Or you might come with something less defined, such as a feeling that your current situation no longer fits, even though you are not yet sure what would.
What happens in the session
The Clarity Hour is a supportive and structured coaching conversation. We will look at what you are bringing, what feels unclear, what you have already tried, what matters to you, and what might be keeping you stuck.
I will listen carefully and reflect back what I am hearing, ask questions that help you look beneath the surface, challenge assumptions, and notice where your thinking may be going round in circles. The session is calm and supportive, but it is also active. The purpose is to help you create enough clarity to take a useful step forward.
By the end of the session, you may have a clearer understanding of what is actually going on, a better sense of what you want or need, a decision that feels easier to make, or a next step you can take. Sometimes the most useful outcome is not a huge plan, but a shift in how you are seeing the situation.
Coaching with me
My coaching style is thoughtful, honest, calm and practical. I am supportive, but I will also challenge you when that challenge is useful. I am interested in the thoughts beneath the thoughts, the assumptions people are carrying, and the places where capable people get stuck because they cannot quite see their own way forward.
Clients have previously described working with me as encouraging, confidence-building, structured, relaxed and challenging in a good way. I bring warmth and curiosity to the coaching space, but I also care about helping you leave with something you can actually use.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a MA in Applied Coaching and I am a Licensed Firework Career Coach. My wider training and experience includes professional coaching skills, career coaching, personal development, mentoring, NLP training, public sector experience and business ownership.
My own background includes changing career direction, working in the public sector, co-founding businesses, and supporting people through points of change. I understand what it is like to reach a point where something no longer fits, but the way forward is not immediately obvious.
The qualifications and experience are there as a foundation, but I do not believe coaching should feel formal, intimidating or full of jargon. Good coaching should help you think more clearly, more honestly and more usefully.
