I provide one to one coaching to individuals who are looking to find their purpose in life or to make a change. I also specialise in supporting people to build self-esteem, confidence or motivation. I am also a fully qualified Hypnotherapist and my skills in Hypnosis and NLP have long helped me to help others make lasting change at a subconscious level. I work with people of all ages and my background as a Senior Leader in the Education Sector has led me to develop my own Teenage Coaching Programme. I have much experience working with people on career progression and exam performance and have worked with many teachers and police officers in particular. My work is based on developing positive mental wellbeing as well as helping people to maximise the untapped potential of the mind in order to reach their full potential.
Training, qualifications & experience
After gaining my BA Hons at Oxford University and PGCE at Sheffield University. I then completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Leadership and Management at Lancaster University. I began my career working with Price Waterhouse Coopers in Leeds before making the move into the Education Sector where I worked as Head of Sixth Form. I spent 16 fulfilling years supporting Sixth Form Teachers in their work and career progression, as well as coaching hundreds of young people through their A-Levels and the university application process. Having always been interested in the mind and how it can affect the way we reach our potential in life, I decided to take some time to build on my knowledge and expertise in this area. I then made my own career change, where I could focus even more fully on sharing my knowledge and expertise with people on their own individual journies. I am now a fully trained Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist and Life Coach and have my own practice in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
I fully believe that everyone has the ability to achieve whatever they really want in life, but that our mind-set can be the greatest barrier to this. Factors like stress, anxiety, a need to please others or to conform to the expectations of society, can take over our lives and become like chains weighing us down. Self-doubt, low self-esteem and a lack of confidence can be like a brick wall blocking out the freedom of thought and creativity which have the potential to lead us onto great things.
I grew up thinking life had to be hard and that working yourself into the ground was the only way. After taking a step back, I realise that hard work is important but that when coupled with great self-belief and the peace of mind to see the most efficient and productive way forward, the sky really is the limit.
Using a range of coaching and psychotherapeutic techniques, I can quickly help people to see the world in a new light, to become aware of their own ways of thinking and to learn to live and work in a much more happy and productive way. A healthy mind leads to a healthy body, but also gives renewed perspective on what is really important to an individual in their own life. This empowers and gives people the confidence to live life on their own terms, rather than being swept along without direction or a sense of fulfillment.
