MidLife Transitions Coaching
We usually associate MidLife with 'mid-life crisis'. But it needn't be that way!
One meaning of 'crisis' is 'turning point' and MidLife is indeed a turning point, It's a time when you can take a breath and consider your life. It's an opportunity to reflect on your achievements so far, adjust your direction and move forward into the best of the rest of your life.
Occupation change: Are you considering retirement and wondering what to do now? Or would you like to keep working but don't know what that might mean for you? Are you part of the huge numbers of over-50s who have been made redundant or are setting up their own business?
Role change: Are you facing a MidLife divorce? Are you suffering from 'empty nest syndrome'? Are you facing up to becoming a carer? Or even part of the 'sandwich generation' with kids still at home as well as elderly relatives needing support?
Life change: Are you wondering about your life purpose and how to fulfill it? Do you know what legacy you're leaving for others?
MidLife is the time to consider all these questions. Jane Parslow's MidLife Transitions Coaching will help you with the changes you want to make and the decisions you face. It will:
- Provide you with the time and space to reflect on your goals and set the direction you want to take
- Give you clarity on your options and support in deciding which to pursue
- Make sure you don't get stuck, but start moving forward
- Help you navigate your path as you put all your plans into practice
"Jane is an exceptional coach; she is adept in a large variety of techniques and so was able to suggest possible tools and strategies to help me look at my current situation in new ways. By enabling me to try out different strategies in a safe coaching environment she helped me make remarkable progress towards the results I wanted. Jane supported, assisted and encouraged but never led or dictated and it is the mark of her skill as a coach that the whole process seemed effortlessly easy. I felt safe and supported and, most importantly, I am now confidently in control of my situation". (Chris, retired Civil Servant.)
About Jane Parslow, FRSA
I qualified as a coach in 2008. By then I had spent over 30 years training and consulting in the field of project management, across a wide range of industries and projects. I started coaching project managers, supporting them through tricky situations in their project, in their team or in their career.
In 2016 I had my own MidLife Transition. My father is still going strong in his 90s and I realised that I could have a few decades in front of me. That realisation led me to refocus my coaching and I chose to do something help people with their personal projects too.
I use a similar framework as for any project (setting a goal, creating a plan to achieve it and measuring progress towards it) combined with my knowledge and experience in NLP, neuroscience and other coaching techniques. I give people some very simple tools which they can continue using after the coaching ends.
I am a member of the ICF and a signatory to their code of ethics. I am currently working towards their ACC credential. I'm a fellow of the RSA and am passionate about the kind of society they are trying to create - including improving the life of people in their 'third age' and beyond. I am an accredited Street Wizard and run Street Wisdom events across west and central London.
Outside coaching I pursue my own goals of staying fit, improving my Spanish and developing my practise of Reiki. I aim to try out new activities whenever I can - from archery to zip-wiring!
