About me

Retirement Coaching

Retirement is a major life transition and is likely to last many years.

While for many it is the reward for years of hard work, for a significant proportion retirement is not the positive experience they expected.

Flexible working patterns mean retirement is no longer a single moment in time. With more choice than ever about when and how people step back from work, many find themselves facing uncertainty:

  •  When should I retire?
  •  What will life look like afterwards?
  •  How do I stay connected, purposeful, and fulfilled?
  •  Will I still feel valued?

We help people approaching retirement to make a successful transition
with clarity, confidence and purpose.

Jane Parslow's Retirement Coaching will help you with the changes you want to make and the decisions you face. She is a partner at Retirement Pathways (www.retirementpathways.co.uk) who specialise in helping you plan your retirement using their model of 8 Keys to a Successful Retirement. With her support, you will:

  • take the time and space you need to reflect on your goals and set the direction you want to take
  • gain clarity on your options and support in deciding which to pursue
  • make sure you don't get stuck, but start moving forward
  • navigate your path as you put all your plans into practice

"Jane is an exceptional coach; she is adept in a large variety of techniques and so was able to suggest possible tools and strategies to help me look at my current situation in new ways. By enabling me to try out different strategies in a safe coaching environment she helped me make remarkable progress towards the results I wanted. Jane supported, assisted and encouraged but never led or dictated and it is the mark of her skill as a coach that the whole process seemed effortlessly easy. I felt safe and supported and, most importantly, I am now confidently in control of my situation".

About Jane Parslow

I qualified as a coach in 2008. By then I had spent over 30 years training and consulting in the field of project management, across a wide range of industries and projects. I started coaching project managers, supporting them through tricky situations in their project, in their team or in their career.

I use a similar framework as for any project (setting a goal, creating a plan to achieve it and measuring progress towards it) combined with my knowledge and experience in NLP, neuroscience and other coaching techniques. I give people some very simple tools which they can continue using after the coaching ends.

In 2016 I faced my own challenges in considering the next chapter of life. I realised that I could have a few decades in front of me. That realisation led me to refocus my coaching and I chose to do something help people with their personal projects too. In 2024 I formed Retirement Pathways with two other retirement coaches to provide a broader and deeper approach to retirement, whatever form that takes for you.

I am a member of the ICF and a signatory to their code of ethics. I am currently working towards their ACC credential. I am an accredited Street Wizard and run Street Wisdom events across west and central London.

Outside coaching I pursue my own goals of staying fit, improving my Spanish and developing my practise of Reiki. I aim to try out new activities whenever I can - from archery to zip-wiring!
