Hans Schumann - Helping you find and advance in a career you love
1 Dysart Street
I am your guy if you are looking to either find a job you truly love, or to advance in your current career.
Finding a job you truly love
Most of my clients are at a point in their career where they are looking for more fulfilment and excitement. They may be bored, burned out, frustrated or even depressed. What they have in common is a desire to escape the daily grind. They know that there must be more for them in life.
If that's you, then I can take you through a series of processes that will help you understand what you really want from your career and how to get it. The outcome could be a re-engagement with your current career, changing your job or career or even setting up your own business. Whatever it will be for you, I encourage you to create a career that is more to you than just a means to paying your bills: a career that supports your own chosen mission in life.

Advancing in your career
If you wish to advance in your current career or simply want to work more effectively, I can help you create strategies and improve your work skills in such areas as planning, people management, communications, influencing, staff motivation, conflict resolution, performance management and time management, to name just a few.
If you are up for it, we can even go deeper and explore how to manage any emotions, beliefs or habits that may impact on your performance or job satisfaction.
I walked my talk. I was one of those corporate workers who burnt themselves out in a job that did not inspire them anymore. After 21 years of working in law and financial services in the City of London, I was was finally brave enough to leave the golden cage of corporate life to follow my love for coaching.
I can help you too create a career that feels fulfilling and inspiring to you.
This topic is so dear to me that I wrote a self-coaching book about it. It is called "Falling in love with your job - How to create more excitement and fulfilment in your career" and it's available on Amazon (see www.LoveYourJobBook.com).
Why does it matter?
Life is a gift and far too precious to waste it in a job you do not enjoy. Finding fulfilment in your career is a cornerstone in my Masterful Living® approach. Watch this video for a taster of it:
Training, qualifications & experience
I am accredited as a coach by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and as a NLP Practitioner by The Association for NLP (ANLP). My 20 years of working in law and financial services means that I am well familiar with business realities, including the challenges and opportunities of working in private practice and corporations. I am also trained in small business coaching for those of you who are thinking of setting up your own business.
I am German born and have been living in the UK since 1995. Before I became a life coach, I worked as a lawyer for city firm Ashurst and then as the manager of a commercial contracts team for retail bank Santander. A serious two year long health crisis made me re-evaluate my life and decide to pursue my passion for personal growth professionally.
I am the author of the book: "Falling in love with your job - How to create excitement and fulfilment in your career" which you can order here.

“After deciding to step away from my current job/career, I needed to take time out to gain a deeper understanding on what makes me tick and what meant the most to me. I didn’t want to spend any more time being unfulfilled by my job. That’s where Hans came in. Over the course of 3 months he was instrumental in helping me uncover my core values (career and life), build goals, vision the life I truly wanted for my family and develop a detailed plan to achieve that. I unequivocally recommend Hans’ to anyone looking for clarity and purpose in both their life and career.”
– A. Brown, Professional Services
“I decided to meet with Hans as I had been within the same industry for over 14 years and had lost my passion and drive. At the very first meeting, he opened up my eyes to where my true passion lay and over the course of the next few sessions, we then developed this further and explored various different avenues, career wise, that related to my passion for investing and personal finance. It is through Hans’s direction and support that I then had the confidence to embark on a new and exciting career within wealth management. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hans for those looking for careers’ advice and wishing to consider what could be a life changing decision.”
– Gary Youssef, Director
"Hans Schumann is an exceptional coach. In just 2 hours, he helped me find answers to guide me through a challenging period I was experiencing at the time. Having reached an unhappy plateau in my business, I am now ready to reboot my business venture. I have found the session invaluable – thank you.”
Peter L. - Business Owner
“From personal development right through to crisis management, working with Hans is true enlightenment. With Hans’s friendly, dynamic and always forward facing approach, I have been able to unlock potential and explore issues in ways I never though possible before. Thank YOU Hans for all your support and dedication. HIGHLY recommended!”
Paul McNicoll, Dean – School of Design & Technology, London College of Fashion
"Over a 12 week coaching intervention, Hans has helped me uncover and articulate my personal purpose and values, and develop an action plan to bring those to life. While our discussions have led to clear results, we’ve also taken time to explore a range of topics, and the process has been very interesting and revealing. He has supported, motivated and challenged me, and it’s been a pleasure working with him."
Nicholas Creswell, Vice President, Performance & Talent Management at Thomson Reuters
“Working with Hans, I have achieved things I could not have done alone. He has helped me to re-assess my values, re-balance my priorities, and clarify my goals, with immediate practical positive results. Hans works with great insight, warmth and humour. I recommend him whole-heartedly.”
Elizabeth Mattson, Eduction & International Development Consultant
“Hans – I would like to thank you for working with me and my team at Santander at our annual conference. I have received amazing feedback on your session and everyone has said how thought provoking it was. We appreciated the time you spent before the conference talking through what we were aiming to achieve and adapting the pre-conference questionnaire following our feedback. Your session really appealed to people’s hearts and minds, your personal journey touched everyone. Once again, many thanks. I would whole heartedly recommend you to individuals or other companies. I wish you luck, however, based on your performance I don’t think you’re going to need it!”
Carol Graham, Head of Business Quality, Santander UK plc
"Hans has helped me focus on those parts of my career and workstreams that directly affect the future I would like to envisage. Instead of trying to balance work/ home life with multiple ideas that sit rather nebulously in the back of my mind, he has worked with me to review my values, streamlining my workload to those areas that will truly achieve my goals. I now have an idea of what I would like to achieve and Hans has given me a step by step blueprint to help achieve those goals. It starts with a book and I've started writing it!"
Anand Patel - General Practitioner
“Working with Hans really helped me to gain some valuable perspective both in my personal life and in my work. Indeed he helped me to realize how strongly these two things were interlinked. Hans helped me to regain a more positive approach in all of my projects and activities and challenged me to tackle difficulties with different strategies. This support has been invaluable in helping me develop a new outlook that is healthier and happier than where I was before.”
– Ramon Casado, Co-Owner / Design Director at Bulthaup Johannesburg
“I came to coaching to better understand myself and find what it is that I look for in my work. Hans was a natural choice for me, he has an international mindset, an inspiring career, but most importantly an honest and caring desire to help. Following my 14 sessions with Hans I am confident with my skills, clear on my ambitions, and focused on staying fulfilled in my professional life. Hans helped me stay accountable for my life and my choices, I highly recommend him to anyone ready to make changes in their life.”
