About me

MY COACHING sits between the models of coaching and mentoring, designed for those who are navigating challenging circumstances, rebuilding a future, or wanting to feel that energy and spark they once had. My “back to me” approach helps people explore their purpose, embrace change and live a life of wholeness, balance and contentment - starting within.

I am an experienced Emotional Wellbeing Coach. Understanding your triggers, those negative thoughts, and what you are feeling are the first steps to managing your complete wellbeing - emotional, mental and physical. Through coaching you'll feel more in control, feel more resilient and motivated to move forward one step at a time. And you'll be more able to do the great things you want to do. No more rumination, procrastination or distraction. It's time for action!

Perhaps you've finished therapy and now want to focus on the future and feel the motivation of someone supporting you to move forward with your life. I offer a safe, non judgemental space where you will be listened to with a whole heart.

Call me and ask about coaching. I'll tell you how it works and how it feels to be coached. (One client said, "It's like spa time for the brain") There's no pressure at all on you to start coaching sessions until you feel ready.

ADHD COACHING:  My ADHD programme is specifically tailored for individuals living with the challenges of adult ADHD. My sessions aim to enhance executive functioning skills, including time management, organisation, planning, task initiation, goal setting, and emotional management. The framework is adapted to the individual's needs and usually runs for 12 sessions.

Whilst I'm not an expert in medication and everyone is different, I do have tips and strategies for living with ADHD without medication.

About me: I'm a shy extrovert. A recovering perfectionist. A solutionist. A friend to my ex-husband. A light sleeper. A micro planner. A seafood lover. A world traveller who loves staying home. A mindful breather. A beach comber. A mother. A glass half-full person ... most of the time!

Training, qualifications & experience

In 2016, I embarked on a transformative journey with The Coaching Academy (London) while serving as an Emotional Wellbeing Coach for CancerSupportUK. Having successfully completed my Diploma and achieved certification as a Personal Performance Coach, I established my professional practice, Debbie Mayhew Coaching. My mission is to provide guidance to individuals in pursuit of personal growth and self-discovery.

My professional background includes a fulfilling career as an English teacher, which took me from the vibrant streets of Hong Kong to the serene shores of Normandy, France. In 2015, life took a profound turn when my husband and I decided to part ways after sharing 31 years of marriage. This marked the beginning of a deeply introspective voyage as I relocated to London.

During this period of reflection and healing, I delved into the realm of holistic well-being, attending retreats and workshops that ultimately led me to the life-altering discipline of Life Coaching. This newfound passion not only transformed my own life but also ignited a new career path as a certified Personal Performance Coach.

My commitment to growth didn't end there. I continued my education, delving into the fields of Emotional Health, Positive Psychology, and Human Potential, allowing me to craft bespoke coaching programmes for those seeking to reshape their perspectives on life and explore their inner worlds.

Today, I live on the West Sussex coast which offers a great opportunity to relax and become mindful.

Join me on a journey of authenticity, personal and professional growth, and the unwavering pursuit of genuine well-being. Together, we can navigate the boundless possibilities of self-discovery and transformation.

Other areas of coaching I deal with

  • Mid-life reinvention
  • Procrastination

  • ADD / ADHD - I work with people who have had a late-in-life diagnosis.

Reviews from past clients

"Debbie instilled confidence in me to move forward with goals that I thought would never be possible. By talking through my aspirations and hopes, I have achieved more in the weeks we spent talking than I have in the ten years that I have talked about doing them." Maggie

"I’m at a stage of life where I wanted to explore both my career goals and leisure time and find a direction for both. Debbie guided me through this. She helped me identify the positives and negatives with the current picture and helped me pinpoint the right path for the future for both aspects of my life. She also gave me the courage and reassurance to take actions along that path. In conclusion I wish I had tried a life coach earlier"  Melissa

"If you would like to talk to someone who can help you make priorities, see the wood for the trees and make giant steps in the space of a few weeks then I would compel you to call Debbie.”  Paul
