Top Tips For Making & Sticking to New Years Resolutions!
So many people I have the pleasure of knowing, seem to mention the same problem year in, year out...They make New Years Resolutions & don't stick to them. They set goals, but can't seem to achieve them! If this sounds familiar, then read on! Here are my top tips for success in 2012....
Be Specific when setting goals for yourself. You can't hit a target you can't see, so write down what it is you want to achieve in detail & consider how you'll feel, what you'll be doing, who you'll be with, what you'll say when you've achieved your desired outcome.
Deadline your goal. A goal without a deadline is not a goal. It is a dream. Make it a reality by deadlining it and...
Be Realistic. This is where a good life-coach will come in useful because they will help you break your goal down into mini-goals, which are realistically achievable for you. A great coach will help you tap into your inner resourceful state & unlock your potential. Setting realistic goals & dealines reduces the chances of disappointment through failure and increases your chances of success!
Try a different approach- They say the definition of madness is doing the same thing over & over again and expecting a different result! If you have attempted a goal/resolution before, without success, look at what worked, what didn't & plan how you'll do it differently next time.
The 3 P's of power
Make your outcome statement personal, positive & present because this makes it more powerful. For example, "I want to lose weight & feel good about myself," could be changed to "everyday I am feeling better & better as I am making positive changes to my body."
Celebrate your success! Plan how you will celebrate your successes, no matter how big or small. They are your personal triumphs & they are significant. It's vital to recognise & celebrate your achievements, because success breeds success! Wishing you a fantastic 2012, reader, whoever you are. You have the potential to achieve great things. This moment will never come again, so grab hold of it and make it count!
