Success and gratitude journal

Are you ready to experience the power of gratitude?

I’m sure you all heard the well-known saying: what we focus on expands. So from this moment on let’s acknowledge all the good things that surround and support us in our daily life. I highly recommend a great book about the power of gratitude by Rhonda Byrne called 'The Magic' to help you get started.

Let’s live each day to the fullest, with clear awareness of what is important, and how fragile life can be.

How often do you express your gratitude to people, who love you, who stand by you and support you all the way? Grab this opportunity and call your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you. If you are lucky enough to have these people within your reach, give them a huge hug and whisper to their ears how much you love them. Do it now, and try to make it a habit for every day!

Have you ever written a success or gratitude journal?

Keeping a success journal is an amazing way to reinforce the importance of your daily accomplishments. Success breeds success. The other great way to remind ourselves how special we are is to write down five things each day that we love about ourselves. We are so often our worst critic, but with the help of these two exercises, we really work towards boosting our self-esteem and can also help us focus on the positive things in our lives.

I remember when I first encouraged one of my clients to start writing down five things she loved about herself each day. I can still recall the concerned look on her face after our first session. Could she possibly come up with five different qualities each day? Well, at our next meeting I could see straightaway that she was happy and content. Her whole body language had changed. The person that had sat in front of me before, feeling rather lost and empty had disappeared. I couldn’t wait to find out what had happened since I last saw her. When I asked her what colour her day was, she smiled and quickly looked down at her shoes. They were bright pink. She explained that in the last few days, she had been feeling on top of the world, and she never knew that she possessed so many great qualities, as she was always focusing on her weaknesses. She realised that she was not only loving and caring, but she was also a great cook, a good listener and a fair manager just to mention a few from her list. I was so pleased with the result.

So for that reason, I encourage you to start keeping a success and gratitude journal from today and make sure that you put down three things each day that you either accomplished or felt grateful for.
