Gratitude - your power tool for success

Gratitude is your power tool for success. Many times we forget to use this amazing tool called gratitude or don't even know the importance and impact of its use.

Gratitude helps you to keep yourself in an optimal state as it:

  • lowers your blood pressure
  • brings you more feelings of joy and happiness
  • reduces the feeling of loneliness
  • boosts your immune system
  • makes you more resilient, loving and compassionate

Gratitude also makes you think of yourself in a more positive way. It strengthens your belief in yourself, your capabilities and potential to reach a certain goal, for example. This, in turn, boosts our confidence in ourselves. When we believe in ourselves we are then also more likely to attempt paths and measures that we would normally not attempt as we are more certain about our own worth and capabilities.

Gratitude also destroys fear and anger which in return brings out your resourcefulness and love in you. When we are more resourceful, we are able to see and dare to attempt avenues we might not have considered before. This, in turn, takes us closer to our desired goal faster and helps us enter the resourceful part of our mind.

When you are in this optimal state of mind, you really are unstoppable.

This is such a wonderful tool to add to your morning routine. When we do this exercise before we focus on anybody else, we set the focus and priorities in our day on what we want to get done and then are more likely to achieve them too. I do not open my phone or emails until after my morning routine has been completed. This way, I centre myself and feed my mind with the good in my life. When you focus on the good in your life, life starts to not be so bad after all as it shifts your mindset into an abundant state, instead of lack.

When you are attempting to change career, you need this mindset on board too. Change and challenges in any area of your life are tough, so help yourself by making gratitude your power tool. It doesn’t change the situation you are in or ask you to ignore it. Instead, it lets you perceive the situation in a more constructive, life-affirming and solution-focused way.

It will remind you of what great things there are despite any challenges you might be having at work or being able to put that finger on what direction to take your career next. And when you do, you are able to see things more clearly and maybe even tap into the that wisdom you have within you that knows to direct you to your true North. Because dream careers do exist. It’s just a matter of finding them or making them.

However, this isn't a one-time thing. We need to practice gratitude daily. Before you even brush your teeth in the morning place your hand on your heart and say out loud the things you are grateful for. You can also keep a morning journal for your daily gratitude if you prefer. So, make it your business to make gratitude a daily habit, and reap the rewards of this harmless-sounding power tool, that will lead you to success.

Big love xx
