A-Z guide to finding work you love - Letter C

Welcome to the kickstart guide to finding work you love, where C stands for 'creativity'.

Once you have an idea about the direction you want your career to go in, it's important that you get creative about how you actually find that type of work.

As you know, there's a whole hidden job market out there. Many jobs aren't advertised so it's important that you know how to tap into that hidden market by getting creative.

So how can you get involved in conversations with the people you need to speak to i.e. the people who know about or currently work in that industry? Where do these people hang out?

How can you get creative with your CV? How can you write it in away that will make you sound really attractive to an employer (without lying)?

Perhaps you have a job idea that is innovative? When you hit that sweet spot between your heart's desire and what the world needs - that's dynamite!

Maybe you're at the stage where you haven't got a clue about what you want to do in the future. It's important that you also get creative about what you could do and not to dismiss certain ideas that you may have had in the past. Remember those times when you've said to yourself, "I'd like to do that, but....". How could you get creative about resurrecting an old idea in a way that could make it possible?

In the words of George Bernhard Shaw, "Some men see things the way they are and say 'why?' I dream things that never were and ask, 'why not?'"
