About me
LIFE AND CAREER COACHING
I established my coaching practice in Hitchin in 2005 and have also coached clients across the UK and overseas.
I offer a professional, caring, flexible and individualised approach. My style of coaching is empathetic, and always focused on what you want to achieve.
WHAT I DO
I specialise in Careers and Work-life Balance for professionals. This includes changing how you work in your current role to complete career changes, retraining, creating a business, or moving towards working less in semi-retirement.
I also support my clients with personal changes (relationships) which include reaching decisions and creating a structure so you have a happy outcome.
I'm qualified and experienced in mentoring professionals who are neurodiverse - mainly dyslexia and ADHD.
CLARITY AND VISION
YOUR CAREER
Something in your life isn't as satisfying as you want. You may be bored, unfulfilled or overwhelmed by work and other commitments. You could be ready for a complete career overhaul, a fresh start, or making changes to the career you have.
Whatever you're thinking about, I'm your sounding board. Someone to talk to in complete confidence. My role as your coach is to help you discover what you want and how to get there. Because it's likely something is holding you back. Indecision, lack of confidence, conflicting thoughts. Yes?
HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER
Coaching is a conversation, where you can 'think aloud' to explore what you want. But it's also a way to change limiting behaviour, a negative mindset, or a lack of confidence. Do you have thoughts to unravel?
- Discuss your thoughts without judgement.
- Overcome procrastination and self-doubt.
- Build your confidence to enhance your personal development.
- Identify and focus on your strengths.
- Let go of negative, limiting thoughts.
- Be pro-active to create change within a realistic timescale.
WHAT I OFFER
- All coaching in planned for you as an individual.
- I use active listening, thought-provoking exercises and meaningful conversations, including Cognitive Behavioural Coaching.
- Coaching is led by you and I support you without judgement.
- I don't make choices for you.
- I will challenge your beliefs if they hold you back.
CLIENTS' COMMENTS
I cannot thank Glynis enough for the coaching I received. The space she held for me (that felt like a total decadence at first!) quickly became a vital channel to allow and enable me to explore my next work steps in the context of the family picture. Glynis rebuilt lost confidence and focused my thinking, encouraging and supporting me to persist and believe in my abilities.
Soon after my coaching concluded, undeterred by the inevitable rejections, thanks to new found belief, I landed my ideal job, testament to this valuable personal investment. Mrs G S
I was in the creative doldrums, wanting to do more designing and making, but lacking a purpose to do so. Glynis helped me to identify what was holding me back and suggested ways to move forward. Since then, with Glynis' support, I have a renewed enthusiasm and new goals. I am looking forward to a creative future. Mrs C A
I went to see Glynis with a specific goal in mind, without an actual idea how to get there or where to start from. From the very first session, Glynis recognised my strengths and understood where I’d need some more guidance.
I consider myself as a pretty organised, full of energy, positive person with great time keeping. I knew exactly where I wanted to go, but I didn’t know how to get there. Finally, I reached my decision to start a new life, knowing at the back of my mind that I CAN make it happen. Today, a year later, I am divorced from a very dysfunctional marriage. I am feeling happy and no longer walk on egg shells in my day-to-day life. It was very tough decision to make and without Glynis’ help it would have taken me at least another year to reach my end goal. Ms A L
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a qualified and experienced coach who's now coached for 20 years. I work with clients both face-to-face and remotely. I've been in personal development for all of my career: first as a teacher then as a coach.
My 'typical' clients include professionals in science, finance, IT, education, academia, and the arts.
But I also coach clients going back to work after a break or redundancy, who want to start their own businesses, or develop their creative interests in art or writing. Some of my clients are in their 50s or 60s and want to create a semi-retirement work-life balance.
I'd love to help you with whatever isn't working right now in your life.
