Tracy Hayward, Psychotherapist, Dip.Couns, MBACP, FRTC, Therapeutic Life Coach
I am a trained therapeutic life coach and also a qualified counsellor, trained as an integrative therapist. If coaching is your preferred way of working, I offer brief, short term work of 5 to 6 sessions. By searching for a therapeutic coach online, you are accessing a directive form of support - the work is both collaborative and empowering – it is about taking back control of your life.
A therapeutic coach …..
- Integrates coaching and counselling within a brief and ethical framework
- Understands and uses cognitive behavioural therapy where appropriate
- Recognises the importance of human emotional needs for well being
- Uses clinical outcome measures and ongoing client feed back at every session
- Can help with anxiety, depression, panic attacks, emotional and well being issues
- Will help you look at your life holistically
- Will help you notice the choices you have
- Will help you draw on your inner resources to get your needs met
- Can help you to relax deeply
- Can help build confidence and self esteem
- Can help be more effective in your work life using advanced coaching techniques
- May use guided visualisation to accelerate positive outcomes
In our initial session we would briefly explore your current issues – why you feel stuck, anxious, depressed, dissatisfied or unhappy – whatever you might present with. We then proceed to the next step, identifying what needs to change, what is within your control and how you make positive changes. Often we don’t know where to begin to turn things around – I can provide the tools and strategies to enable you to move forward, teaching you new ways of ‘being’ and coping with life that you can use from hereon.
Training, qualifications & experience
Originally I qualified as a registered general nurse, but since 1995 have worked with children in an educational environment. Over the past eight years I have worked as a learning mentor, and later a counsellor in a large middle school. Five years ago I left to concentrate solely on my private practice and now work from home, but also receive referrals from schools to work with students, parents and staff.
I have extensive experience also of working with adults with a very wide range of mild to complex issues and spent two years working at an addiction agency. I enjoy the diversity my work brings, affording me the privilege to work with individuals, couples and young people.

She respects confidentiality, is reliable and has been a genuine asset to our school - I would highly recommend her to private clients.' JC, Headteacher, Woodland Academy, Flitwick
