About us

Hi, I'm Tim and I help students and young people to better deal with the pressures of university/college life, and any other stress or anxiety you may be experiencing.

Fun, excitement and success are a massive part of your time at university, and my coaching will help you to fully maximise these by helping you find your best way to manage the other, less ‘fun and exciting’ experiences of university.

Key benefits of coaching to you:

  • Exam anxiety reduced.
  • Study stress better managed.
  • Settle into your new uni life more comfortably.
  • Budgeting skills so you have the money you need when you need it.
  • Workloads better managed by increasing your time management skills.
  • Study/life balance that is right for you.
  • Be more effective at university by identifying and breaking down your preventative
  • barriers.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have coached an array of different students on a one to one basis studying an array of different subject areas.

I also run workshops within Edge Hill University and for other students from different universities, to help them build the day to day strength and resilience they need to help them better deal with stress and anxiety.

Aside from this, I have also coached accountants, small business owners, athletes, university lecturers and the captain of the Talisker ladies Atlantic rowing team.

I currently work with a company called 'Know you more coaching' who are helping young people succeed in life. Their business partners include: The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, Oxfam, The University of St. Andrews, NHS, and Siemens to name a few.

I trained with a company called 'Simply Changing' and I am a fully qualified life coach/personal performance coach with NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming), and I'm accredited by The NCP (National Council of Psychotherapists).

Testimonials

"I found your class very inspirational. It helps us to look at the bigger picture in life and positive ways you can deal with experiences.

I think universities would benefit to have someone like you supporting their students, as in just one hour I know you made us all feel like stronger people."

"Cannot recommend Tim highly enough, he has given me 1:1 coaching throughout my journey from education into employment. I had a lot of self doubt and anxiety when I started my journey and Tim has worked through every step with me, always helping me to see a different perspective. He has been very patient with me and made me feel very comfortable during our sessions. My confidence has improved significantly and he has taught me several different techniques that I can use to help my self in the future."

Student

"I had the first of my life coaching sessions towards the end of my final year at uni when I was feeling overwhelmed with deadlines and life as a graduate. The sessions were relaxed and informal, and the techniques Tim taught me really helped me stay calm and focused when I was stressed, and I will be using them in the future as well, thanks!"

Student

"I found Tim to be very welcoming, professional and easy to talk to, even when talking about personal aspects of my life such as the future, family and career plans. Each session was focused on what I felt I needed guidance with, however Tim kept each session well structured to ensure I got the most out of his coaching. A session which stands out includes one in which he taught me a technique in which to increase confidence. This has proved invaluable to me during the months prior to my exams. In addition, each coaching session has enhanced my understanding of the way my own mind works, including my own perception of time and how I plan events in the future. Ultimately I have gained a better understanding of how to reach my personal and professional goals, whilst being able to invoke a number of methods and techniques to make me more efficient in everyday life."

"Tim coached myself with a group of student social workers on how to manage our strengths and the stresses of uni. I found it really helpful, as the importance of self care in social work is so important. We don’t necessarily get taught how to self care but are told the importance of it. Tim gave me some tools to manage the stresses of social work placement and university, I would highly recommend his service to any student as we all know how hard it can be to manage uni and have a life outside of it!"

"I really enjoyed this experience! It was cool to discover new things about myself, and to learn useful tools and techniques that I can apply to everyday life - I've found these to be especially helpful as I have started my third and final year of university, and am in dire need of motivation! In particular, the work we did focusing on ways to reduce feelings of anxiety was amazing, and I’ve found the techniques we discussed to be really effective! I have even passed on the things I've learned from Tim to my friends and family, which shows how highly I regard his work! The best dude around!"

Student

"Tim is providing me with 1:1 coaching as I prepare to row across the Atlantic in a small boat with two other ladies. This challenge is one of the toughest in the world. It is 80% in the head...so I am loving all that Tim is teaching me. I now have some great tools to use when I am scared, frustrated, annoyed, struggling to cope with someone else's action or decision.....these could be small things in the big world but on a boat could be quite serious. Tim is so patient and helps me explain what I am struggling with; he is then able to provide me with a tool or exercise to manage the situation. I know that with his help I am going to find the head stuff whilst crossing the Atlantic much easier to handle. Massive thanks Tim, you really are helping me enormously. Also when I get home I will still have these helpful tools."

Captain of Tailsker Ladies Atlantic rowing team 2017/18.
