The Person Coach

In no particular order, here are the roles I've played in my life: husband, parent, chef, graphic designer, web developer, writer, handyman, project manager, homemaker and life coach. 

I chose the word "role" carefully because underneath every iteration there is a core being, the truest me, built on my 4 C's: Curiosity, Commitment, Creativity, Care.

Curiosity has led me on a fascinating and varied career. I know what it is to make the leap from a safe, regular income to starting my own business. I know what it is to walk into a room knowing you know nothing and I know what it is to be handed a tiny human being and feel the responsibility of the promise inside.

Commitment to work, in any of its guises, gives me the strength to succeed. The belief in a project, a piece or a person, and watching potential realised feeds my commitment, even when things look bleak. Especially when things look bleak.

Creativity is at the heart of everything I do. There is always a way; over, under, around or through, and it's through creative thinking that we find that way. Whether it's writers block, meeting a deadline or getting a child to sit through a family meal, by looking at the puzzle from every angle, the solution will present itself and the actions appear.

Care for others, for the work and for ourselves means so much more than a pat on the hand or saying the right thing. Care is a deep sense of empathy, a desire to empower and the ability to take pride in success. To care is to invest in your desired outcome and stay with you until the end.
