Suzy Phillips, MSc. Practioner Diploma in Exec. Coaching
I have been coaching for over 25 years for individuals and organisations. I find people often come when they are facing change in their life (personal or with careers) which requires support to develop: greater insight; future options; and steps to move forward. I also coach individuals who feel their confidence has dropped; maybe struggling with a difficult situation or conflict; feeling demotivated; and generally want to be more effective or full-filled in their management, leadership, business roles or life in general.
I use open ended questions to prompt: reflection; goal-setting; planning and action. I also find it is helpful to ask incisive questions and reflect back my observations to enable my clients to objectively identify any limiting assumptions and patterns of behaviour. I have expertise in a range of management tools and questionnaires as well as behavioural psychometric instruments both e.g. the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (which indicates preferences in terms of the roles we like at work, how we can manage stress, resolve conflict, lead a team and find a suitable career) which I can offer to clients if they think these would be helpful.
As a creative person and artist, I can use creative approaches which are sometimes more accessible for people who enjoy using more expressive and visual techniques.
I like to meet my clients face to face if possible but can continue through Skype/Facetime if necessary. I hold an initial 'getting to know each other' session to see if the 'fit' is right for us, which then moves into 'contracting' if so. I like to see people if possible for a minimum of three sessions (although this is always open for consideration) with a review to see if the client wishes to continue. Sessions are generally up to 1.5 hours duration on a monthly basis (but again up for discussion) either in my home or a convenient location for both of us. I can offer daytime or evening appointments.
