About me

If you are ready to make positive changes in your life then I can help you!

I enjoy helping people to reconnect with their creativity, to get past whatever is blocking them, and to make positive changes in any area of their life, using expressive tools such as Art Journaling.

I am available at weekends and some evenings - and weekdays too of course! I am happy to accommodate you regarding appointment times - just text me (07530659316) to make arrangements. I look forward to meeting you!

N.B. As of 18/03/2020 -

In line with current health advice, I have suspended all face to face and group coaching for the time being.

One to one clients - both new and existing - will be able to continue with their sessions via Skype or WhatsApp.

I will email you any resources needed ahead of time so that you can print them out before the session, and I do look forward to seeing you in the virtual world!

Training, qualifications & experience

Professionally, I believe that it’s important to have proper life coaching training and qualifications, independently verified by an external body. I therefore have a Level 5 Diploma in Performance Coaching with Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) from Simply Changing, which was independently moderated by Pearson (EdExcel).

I am also a qualified secondary school teacher with a PGCE in Design & Technology (Food & Textiles); my undergraduate degree was in Fine Art and English Literature.

I've also done a lot of CPD training with PODS (Positive Outcomes for Dissociative Survivors) including trauma recovery, childhood abuse, family trauma, and self-harm/suicide. I have found that even where clients have not experienced severe abuse, trauma, or dissociation, many of the concepts, frameworks, and techniques are useful, especially as they apply to the Inner Child work that I find can be so helpful.

Speaking of Inner Child work, it's probably worth mentioning that a huge amount of benefit can be gained just from completing your childhood stages of development - and this can be a lot of fun too! It's not necessary to go back over every bad thing that happened when you were little; you can in effect 're-parent' yourself, giving that little child inside of you all the love and attention they have needed all these years. This of course can make you feel better about yourself as an adult, and thus better able to cope with life generally.

Because of my extensive background in art and craft, I like to use lots of creative activities in my life coaching - but you don't have to be an artist! Art Journaling is a favourite project, and stamping, stenciling, doodling, and collage are all techniques that beginners can easily use successfully. Creating a Journal also provides you with reference material for self-coaching after your sessions have finished.

I have been coaching for 7 years now, and I love helping people more than ever. I am a member of the National Council of Psychotherapists, and thus comply with their Continuing Professional Development requirements and adhere to their professional Code of Conduct which includes strict client confidentiality. I am also fully insured with Holistic Insurance.

Further information

I help people who are ready for change to create the life they want - a life of choice not chance.

My approach to coaching is eclectic and carefully chosen – including elements of NLP, inner child work, mindfulness, CBT, and positive psychology.

I enjoy helping people to reconnect with their creativity, to get past whatever is blocking them, and to make positive changes in any area of their life. One of my favourite creative tools is ArtJournaling, which combines colourful mark making with the written word to create a unique, personal, and emotionally relevant art object.

Don’t worry, you do not need to have any artistic skills or training to engage with the creative tools I like to use – it’s all suitable for beginners, and includes colourful textures, stamping, doodling, collage, and writing.

And of course, if you don't want to go down the expressive arts route, you can choose not to - and we will use engaging worksheets, thought-provoking exercises, good listening, and excellent questions to move you forward into the life you want for yourself.

I believe that every single one of us has value - and I would love to help you bring out your best self and find Another You.
