About me
Whether you find yourself stuck in a rut, hungry for challenge or promotion or on the brink of a creative journey, as your coach I’m here for you, ready to help you decide what you want to achieve from the coaching process. I am an empathetic coach who will create a relaxed, confidential and non-judgmental space for you to talk through your goals and aspirations and explore any barriers. I work with clients to improve confidence, provide challenge and offer the space to explore what’s really important to you. I will support you as a coachee to progress, confident that you have the power to find the solutions to help you move forward.
“Confidence grows when you take a risk and you survive.” (Dr John Gray)
My background
Having moved from teaching to publishing to the Civil Service, I know what it’s like to change direction and embrace the challenge of reinvention. Change can feel risky but it’s easier if you prepare the ground and know what you want. Coaching can be the key to overcoming barriers and preparing for success.
My first experience of coaching was when I needed help preparing for an interview. The process was like a breath of fresh air and different from other forms of career support I had encountered. I found coaching skills could be applied in a variety of workplace situations, and can often open up different ways of problem solving and approaching challenges. An experienced communications professional, I currently work in a busy Private Office ministerial comms role at the Department for Education.
I have experience of working in education settings in the UK and abroad. I have also worked in publishing, as an Editor at Heinemann ELT (Macmillan) and in editorial project management roles at HarperCollins and BBC Children's Books.
Testimonials
P, London
"I have found coaching very helpful in unlocking work and life experiences that had been buried but nevertheless have prevented me from being my true self.
Siobhan has been an excellent coach. She explained what coaching was and how it differed from mentoring. It was also helpful to know that our conversations did not necessarily have to be work related and that there was no reporting back to my line manager. That put me at ease as there was no pressure to say the ‘right things’ . The sessions were relaxed, and Siobhan went at my pace.
My coaching sessions have increased my confidence and have empowered me to face challenges personally and professionally that I would otherwise push aside.
I would recommend coaching to help explore unconscious blockages to progress."
S, London
"Siobhan made me feel at ease immediately and I felt comfortable discussing the work related issues I am currently facing in terms of seeking permanent employment. Siobhan listened intently, encouraged and prompted me to think about and act on making positive changes and decisions that would benefit me, not just in my working life, but also in my personal life."
