I am an ICF certified Coach, Mentor and Chartered HR professional with over twenty years’ experience, gained mainly in the oil and gas industry. Originally from the UK, I have also lived and worked in the Philippines, Kazakhstan and Qatar. I now live in Hampshire, UK.
Throughout my life, I’ve worked with both easy people and challenging people. I’ve been a team member, team leader and a line manager. I’ve worked in corporate centres, business teams and out in the field. I’ve had great times, tough times, made mistakes, been successful and above all, I’ve learned a lot about myself and others along the way. All of this tremendous experience is a strong foundation for my work as a professional Coach.
Who do I coach?
I provide life/personal development coaching to private clients as well as executive coaching to corporate clients. I have coached people from many different professional and cultural backgrounds on a wide range of topics.
I coach people who feel stuck in their personal or professional lives, who see choices and decisions ahead of them and need support to work out – what’s the right way to go? – or who want to change something, but aren’t sure where to start. I also coach leaders in the workplace to strengthen and develop their people and communication skills.
A common theme with all of my clients is a desire to make a change of some kind and to identify what they really want – from work and life as whole – so that they make decisions based on what’s most important for them.
Having been an expat, I have a particular interest in coaching people to deal with the challenges of living and working in new locations – the impact of changes on career, role, identity, environment, family life etc – and to take action to make the changes they want to see.
What's my coaching style?
My coaching style is calm and supportive whilst also being challenging and thought provoking. You can read a few testimonials from clients on my website (www.bluewillowcoaching.co.uk).
How does a coaching partnership begin?
In the first instance we would meet up, either in person, on-line or by phone, to explore what you want from coaching and so that you can ask any questions you have about me and my coaching approach. I would also explain what you can expect from being coached. This conversation takes about 20-30 minutes and costs nothing.
If we then agreed to work together, we would set up a coaching program of typically six sessions - the number can and does vary depending on individual clients' requirements. The next step would be to arrange your first coaching session. Coaching can be in person and on-line (using Zoom - audio or video).
