About me

Welcome, I' m Scott, a EMMC accredited life coach and a BACP accredited counsellor and psychotherapist. I offer a compassionate and supportive space to help people navigate their challenges, both past and present. With over 7 years of experience and 3,000 hours of practical work , I use an integrative approach that combines various models tailored to your unique needs.

To truly flourish in all areas of our lives, it’s essential to have a clear sense of direction. Think of it as having a compass to guide us through life’s complexities; without it, we risk wandering aimlessly, struggling to achieve our goals, and feeling lost. The demands of everyday life can be overwhelming, making it difficult to find the time to reflect, identify, and monitor the path we want to take.

Centuries ago, Greek philosophers recognized the profound benefits of engaging with a skilled individual who can help us reflect on and clarify our thoughts, values, goals, and beliefs. Without this external perspective, we often remain unaware of our habitual behaviors, rigid thought patterns, and blind spots. This is where I come in. I support my clients in gaining deeper self-awareness, helping them clarify the direction they wish to pursue and explore the ways to get there.

I have a deep understanding of psychological tools, strategies, and skills that can support personal growth and well-being across all areas of life. I work with clients in a wide range of areas, including:

  • Gaining insight into and overcoming anxiety and depression
  • Understanding anger and learning healthy coping strategies for effective anger management
  • Managing stress through practical, evidence-based tools and techniques
  • Developing healthy coping mechanisms to replace unhelpful or self-sabotaging behaviours
  • Increasing self-awareness to foster greater emotional regulation and break unhelpful thinking patterns
  • Building self-confidence by identifying and challenging self-limiting beliefs
  • Clarifying and cultivating personal values and desirable qualities for growth
  • Learning mindfulness techniques to deepen the connection between mind and body
  • Applying mindfulness in everyday life to enhance presence, reduce overthinking, and ease worry and rumination
  • Breaking unhelpful habits and creating sustainable, positive ones
    Strengthening assertiveness and communication skills
  • Navigating relationship challenges
  • Identifying meaningful goals and creating actionable strategies to achieve them.

I offer a free 20-30 minute consultation where I can answer any questions you may have.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how counselling works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment.
