What would it be like for you to listen in to your deepest wishes and then act from that place? So often we dismiss what we want, tell ourselves it’s not possible, or maybe we will take notice next week, or next year. Coaching helps us pay attention to our innermost longings and move towards making them happen in our lives. We can learn to work with our procrastinating or impulsive selves, by making small changes happen and building our confidence to create a future we want.
Sounds straightforward? We tend to make it a whole lot more complicated- why?
We get caught in the busyness of life, rush from one activity to another so by the end of the day we are too exhausted to give attention to our personal development. Often it is only when we hit a crisis that we finally accept we must do something.
We can believe we can’t have what we want. We can be harsh towards ourselves in ways we would not be to others. At such times, we can see ourselves as victims of others and feel powerless to change the situation.
Early survival patterns kick in- we think we can handle everything, and find it hard to show our vulnerability. We lose our authentic nature in the midst of keeping our show on the road.
So my invitation is not to wait. Whatever is calling you, then start today listening to you.
When we connect to ourselves and trust our inner guidance, then we can move to a place where we can embrace change. We can learn to see the mindsets and beliefs that have limited us and transform ourselves. It can be tough- we can question if what we want is really possible. Self-doubt can creep in at every opportunity! But ultimately it liberates us as we get in touch with our power to change.
In coaching, it is about taking small steps to change, and building on these - the changes we want really are possible!
What to expect from a coaching session
In the first session, we will look at where you want to be in your life, what are the changes you want to make. This may be a tangible goal like working towards a career change, or about how you are in yourself, such as being calmer, less reactive.
It is helpful at this point for me to have some understanding of your family background, current support networks, hobbies and work etc. At the end of the session, you will be able to say where you want to be in 3-6 months time. Each session after that, the work is about identifying a small step in your overall direction.
We may use different ways of connecting to what is important for you such as discussion, drawing, writing and meditation.

How often do we meet?
Coaching sessions are set at a frequency that meet your needs. Often people start with more frequent times, such as weekly or fortnightly, then may move to monthly. This can be agreed at the first meeting and reviewed as we go.

For Life Coaching, I offer a free half hour discussion with you, face to face or via phone, to explore how we could work together, the issues you are looking for support with, and if coaching is for you. If we go ahead, I charge £50 for an hour. Reduction for block bookings of 6 sessions or longer. Rates negotiable for people on low income- please ask.
