Hello and thank you for reading my profile. I offer coaching within businesses, organisations and to individuals.
What would it be like for you to listen in to your deepest wishes and then act from that place? So often we dismiss what we want, tell ourselves it’s not possible, or maybe we will take notice next week, next month or next year. Coaching helps us pay attention to our innermost longings and move towards making them happen in our lives. We can learn to work with our procrastinating selves, make small changes happen and building our confidence to create a future we want. So coaching is about exploring how we want our lives to be, giving ourselves space to imagine, dream, and then making changes that support us.
Sounds straightforward? We tend to make it a whole lot more complicated- why?
We get caught in the busyness of life, rush from one activity to another so by the end of the day we are too exhausted to give attention to our personal development. Often it is only when we hit a crisis that we finally accept we must do something.
We can believe we can’t have what we want. We can tell ourselves that we won’t get that promotion, we don’t deserve it, or other people are better. We can be harsh towards ourselves in ways we would not be to others. At such times, we can see ourselves as victims of others; our boss, our colleagues and feel powerless to change the situation.
Previous patterns of coping kick in- we think we can handle everything and find it hard to show our vulnerability. We lose our authentic nature in the midst of keeping our show on the road.
So my invitation is not to wait. If you feel you are ready for a new challenge in your work or personal life, or you want to develop more loving empowering relationships with yourself and others then start today. Perhaps you feel that you want to take a new direction in your life and explore what that may be, or you may simply asking be the question, what do I want from life? Perhaps your job is getting you down and you want to look at something different- maybe even working for yourself. Perhaps you are out of work and you want to choose your next job that will give you purpose and satisfaction.
When we connect to ourselves and trust our inner guidance, then we can move to a place where we can embrace change. We can learn to see the mindsets and beliefs that have kept us static, and the limiting effect this has. It can be tough- we can question if what we want is really possible. Self-doubt can creep in at every opportunity! In coaching, it is about taking small steps to change, and building on these - the changes we want really are possible!
What to expect from a coaching session
The first session is about getting to know one another to see if coaching can work for you. We will look at what brought you to coaching, where you want to be in your life after the coaching. How will your life be? I will ask about different areas of your life, your hobbies, job, family as each will have a bearing on the changes you want to make. At the end of the session, you will be able to say where you want to be in 3-6 months time. Each session after that, the work is about identifying a small step in your overall direction.
We may different ways of connecting to what is important for you such as discussion, drawing, writing and meditation.
I work from a lovely quiet room a short distance from the centre of Chorlton. I also coach outdoors in local parks. Please discuss this if you are interested in this.
