About me

Paul Keates – Trauma Recovery Coach

Helping Individuals & Organisations Overcome Trauma and Rebuild Strength
From Survivor to Guide:  My Journey of Resilience

First off I shouldn’t be here.

That’s not an exaggeration - it’s the truth. I’ve endured challenges that should have stopped me in my tracks: a traumatic brain injury, multiple brain surgeries, a stroke, and a battle with COVID-19 that left me on a ventilator, fighting for my life.

But here I am. Not just surviving, but thriving. And now, I use my experience to help others reclaim their strength, rebuild their confidence, and move forward.

I’m Paul Keates, and I specialise in trauma recovery coaching.

Why Trauma Recovery Coaching?
Trauma changes everything. It disrupts your sense of self, your confidence, and your ability to function at your best - whether in life or in the workplace, and I understand this from firsthand experience. My recovery wasn’t just about healing physically - it was about regaining control over my life, my mindset, and my future.

Now, I work with:

Individuals struggling with the aftermath of trauma, whether from illness, injury, or life-altering events.

Organisations that want to support employees dealing with trauma-related challenges—helping them return to work stronger, more resilient, and more confident.

The Process: A Practical, No-Nonsense Approach to Recovery
Recovery isn’t about wishful thinking—it’s about action. My coaching is built on real-life strategies that work. Through structured guidance, I help my clients:

Regain control – Trauma often leaves people feeling powerless. I help individuals and teams rebuild their confidence, develop resilience, and take charge of their recovery.

Developing a strong mindset – Mental resilience is key. I teach proven strategies for overcoming fear, self-doubt, and limiting beliefs.

Set and achieve goals – Whether it’s getting back to daily life or performing at a high level again, I help people break recovery into achievable steps.

Reintegrate into work and life – Organisations benefit when employees feel supported. I provide coaching that helps teams navigate trauma recovery in a structured and empowering way.

Why Work With Me?

Firsthand Experience – I don’t just coach trauma recovery—I’ve lived it. I understand the frustration, the setbacks, and the victories.

Real-World Strategies – No fluff, no generic advice. Just actionable steps that help individuals and businesses move forward.

Proven Resilience Coaching – My approach has helped others overcome their biggest challenges—and I can help you or your organisation do the same.

The Next Step

Trauma doesn’t have to define you. Whether you’re an individual looking to reclaim your life or an organisation wanting to support your team, I can help.
