Neil Bailey - virtual coach and kindness ambassador
I've spent much of my life doing things that have scared me. Let's face it many of us do.
I've done jobs that pushed me.
I've taken part, and still do, in adventurous running events.
I've dealt with redundancy, school and work placed bullying, depression.
I have suffered from M.E. for the past 16 years and yet kept going.
Fear can be a powerful block to living life, but it can also be a powerful motivator.
So my coaching, consulting and training is about helping people like you and me to fear less.
Not to remove fear but to choose when it's right for you to feel it and use it to thrive.
I want to help you choose the right adventures you need to achieve, to live the life you want and give you the personal tools to make them happen.
Ok Neil, that's all very interesting but why a Knight?'
?That's a great question. Knights, to me, are all about chivalry.
?Chivalry: “In short, chivalry is — a choice. The choice to do the right things, for the right reasons, at the right times.” (Chivalry Today)
?That's my aim, for both myself and others. How life changing would it be for you to be confident enough and believe in yourself enough to do that whenever you want?
I'm always up for a new adventure, are you?
?I live by that chivalry and try to do the right things.
I do as much philanthropic work as possible through my www.dokindness.co.uk initiative where I offer Distance Reiki, Pet Portraits and Button Jewellery for charity donations. I also run a micro-foodbank out of a cupboard outside my house and the Do Kindness Facebook Group where we share kindness stories and actions.
What beliefs underpin my coaching/counselling?
I believe that everyone can change, as long as there is a true will to do so. You already have the ability to change whatever you want, coaching will help you gain the belief, skills or knowledge to make that change successful.
What is the experience of being coached/counselled by me like?
My goal is to help you think differently about the situation you want to change. This is done through precise questioning and NLP techniques. I am here to support but also challenge your thinking. It’s not about being friends; changing the way we think and act can be uncomfortable; my role is to create a trusting and secure coaching environment where you feel safe enough to change.
What therapeutic approach do I use?
My approach is based on the principles underpinning NLP.
- Rapport – the connection between you and me; and the connection between your mind and your physiology.
- Outcome oriented – always start with the end in mind. Being clear on what you want and don’t want.
- Sensory Acuity – understanding how you represent your internal world to the outside and vice versa.
- Behavioural Flexibility – adapting, testing and changing. Understanding what you do well and do more of it.
How do I know if I am doing a good job?
I know this when a client is making changes and there’s a connection between myself and the client. I also know when I hear clients using sentences like “I haven’t thought about that before”; it lets me know I’m asking the right questions.
What is my professional background?
I have around 1000 hours of coaching and counselling experience. Three quarters of these were with private life coaching clients; the rest with Directors and business leaders.
I’ve hence coached a wide variety of topics from wellbeing, confidence and trauma to redundancy, retirement and career development.
I first trained in counselling when I worked within Further Education. From there I wanted to be able to support people to take more proactive action which led me to coaching and NLP.

I am a qualified coach, NLP Master Practitioner, Counsellor, MBTI step 2 Practitioner, and Reiki Master Teacher.
I've worked, trained and coached in a wide variety of sectors including: Local Government; Charity; NHS; Banking; Telecoms; Manufacturing; and Small Business at all levels of management and of course with you the individual.
Personally I regularly challenge myself using the techniques I use with clients. Fifteen years ago I was diagnosed with ME. Since then I've worked hard to continue a "normal" life and set targets to achieve.
"If you’re fortunate enough to find Neil Bailey has a free slot, book it! You won’t regret it.
?As a high performance coach myself with high expectations and pretty exacting standards it takes a lot to impress me.
?Neil did just this from the get-go with his insightful, personable and highly experienced, professional approach. Don’t be fooled by the quiet demeanour. This gent is a pro with a dry wit which belies the connections and ideas being formed below the surface.
?If you're looking for a coach who will really care, and will commit to helping you resolve whatever it is has brought you to seek one out, sign up!
?A coaching adventure with The FearLess Knight is worth its weight in gold." Kit, Scotland
"Neil is an exceptional coach. I spent several days shopping around for the right person to help. It happened to be the weekend when I contacted Neil. He got back to me despite it being a Saturday. I appreciated this ever so much because when you are desperate for change, you do hope for help imminently.
We talked the next day… a Sunday… for an introductory discussion. He spent more time than any other coaches understanding my situation and already I felt like he had helped me. It was so thorough that I thought maybe I would be charged for the time we talked but it was free. I was so impressed already and the rapport was excellent.
The sessions exceeded what I had hoped for. Neil gets straight to the root of the problem and works quickly to help you. I gained so much from each session. I learned skills that I can carry around with me forever. Neil was without a doubt, the best coach for me.
At first I was a bit apprehensive about working over Skype. I thought I needed to work with someone one-to-one but actually working remotely was not a problem at all. It made it more affordable and saved time and money on travel.
When I was first looking for a coach, my problems seemed insurmountable. But I only needed three sessions with Neil to gain equilibrium again and see the positive changes I wanted. If I ever needed any coaching in the future, I would contact Neil without hesitation. I was very lucky to find such a highly skilled coach and right on my doorstep. A coach of his calibre I thought you would only find in a metropolitan city.
I can’t thank Neil enough for affecting my life so dramatically, positively and quickly. "
“I have experienced two traumas in my life that left unwanted pictures replaying in my mind - and I would dread going to bed at night, when the memory of those traumas would come to the fore. On both occasions I turned to Neil for NLP.
Each time Neil was able to take me through a guided thought process which unblocked these visions; removed the stress attached to the memory, and left me free from the impact of both traumas. The therapy was instantly effective each time, and I cannot thank Neil enough for his expert use of this amazing technique.” Mandy, Chelmsford
"Neil is a life coach who you can trust. He will support you to lead all aspects of your life in a more positive and fulfilling way, whether it is work, relationships or your inner personal life.
I have tried various therapies, including: hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and counselling and have found that Neil’s style of life coaching has helped me the most. You can communicate with Neil in whichever way is best for you and know that you are working with a genuine, safe person in a safe environment. Neil can support you to reframe difficult situations and keep them in perspective and work with you to achieve your own personal goals.
With Neil’s life-coaching approach you can gain results much faster than with other therapies, which can become very costly in the long term.
Neil’s highly-developed skills and training combined with honesty, intelligence and integrity make him a life coach who is head and shoulders above all other life coaches and therapists." Susan, Chelmsford
"Neil is focussed and highly professional. He is quick to assess and understand, having and unerring ability to ask the right question at the right time. He enables and provokes new ways forward as well as emphatically supporting well timed action plans." Alex, Chelmsford
