About me

Life coach, business coach and executive coach.

How different would things be if you were able to clarify what is really holding you back? How much untapped potential have you got? How well do you really understand how and why you think and behave the way that you do?

I help people be the best that they can by getting really clear what they are trying to achieve, why they need to achieve it and how they are going to get there. I will support you, not lead you, as you find your own way forward.

I undertake business, executive and life coaching as well as a variety of leadership / personal development assignments.

You will find me very 'down to earth' and easy to work with.

Clients describe my coaching style as:

  • Non-judgemental and safe
  • Very deep level of listening
  • Able to sense what is important
  • Profound and trustworthy

Someone described my coaching style as an 'oasis'.

I offer coaching in a variety of areas including:

  • Career coaching
  • Business coaching
  • Work/life balance
  • Personal development
  • Leadership
  • Executive coaching
  • Confidence
  • Feeling stuck
  • Transitions

Me and Coaching:

I am a specialist in change management, and coaching is a vital part of my work. I coach people experiencing a wide range of situations. I have worked with clients feeling stuck, unfulfilled, demoralised, lacking energy and unsure what direction to head in work/life. Things can feel puzzling, frustrating and limiting. I enjoy working in these contexts. Together, our coaching work will clarify what is really going on for you. We will be working at cognitive and emotional levels to unravel the situation and work out how best to move forwards. I will work with you as you take the necessary steps towards a new and fulfilling future.

Working With Teams:

I also provide group and team coaching within organisations. I do this in different ways depending on the circumstance, but this can include observational work. This is where I would visit an organisation, observe how individuals and teams interact and then provide feedback on a confidential basis. My role here is to 'hold up a mirror' to those I'm observing to help understand what dynamics are really at play. This helps provide a frame of reference for ongoing coaching work.I also have expertise in undertaking observations. For example, I am currently undertaking observational work with senior leaders in an influential organisation in the UK. This led to coaching work with the leaders I observed to help them further develop and grow. I am also currently coaching a team of bright, young technical experts based in Southern Africa.

Mental Toughness Assessment:

I am also licensed to conduct a mental toughness assessment (MTQ48) which is a unique 48 item high-quality psychometric measure. Mental toughness describes the mindset that every person adopts in everything they do. It is closely related to qualities such as character, resilience, grit, etc. It can provide a lot of insight into how we approach situations and helps identify areas where we may wish to increase mental toughness. If you wish to undertake this assessment just let me know at the time of booking.

Ethics, Code of Conduct and Social Responsibility:

As a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), I am committed to their code of conduct which covers confidentiality and ethics (I am happy to supply a copy on request). As a practising professional coach, I have a coaching supervisor who helps me stay fresh and alert for each coaching client I work with. I also hold Professional Indemnity Insurance. I am also committed to continuing my professional development.

"Coaching helped me identify the real challenges at both personal and professional level" - Manager Global Assignment Compliance, Daimler AG, Germany

"At a time of significant change for myself and my family, the coaching sessions with Miles helped me see past frustrations to the depth of my feelings and wants. His calm style and approach helped me focus and enabled me, as a busy working mother, to develop a clearer understanding of what balls really needed juggling and which could be put down for now!  Miles has the ability to listen past  words. He uses this with great skill, helping me appreciate what was the true crux of the issue."

"Coaching renewed my self-confidence" - Group Personnel Manager, Insurance Industry

"Coaching helped me through a very difficult time" - Senior Manager, Global Telecomms Supplier

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified coach, having undertaken rigorous professional coaching training, accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and have full membership of the ICF. I also conduct graduate development programmes, and lots of bespoke change management and consultancy work.
