About me

I believe that everyone can benefit from coaching at some point in their lives and I would be delighted to have a no obligation telephone conversation with you to discuss the results you want to achieve through coaching.

I have been coaching for 14 years now and am passionate about helping people create the best lives and careers they can for themselves. Some of the most common areas I work with clients on include:

  • business coaching
  • achieving and maintaining a balanced life
  • decision-making & creating options at times of transition
  • navigating a career change or new role
  • successfully tackling difficult conversations
  • boosting self-confidence
  • improving relationships through better listening & communication
  • tackling imposter syndrome
  • dealing with conflict effectively and confidently
  • understanding personality preferences
  • preparing for interviews

Having made a career change myself from practising as a solicitor to working as a coach, trainer and facilitator, I have had personal experience in several of these areas and have tackled many of them over the years with the support of a coach.

I found my coaching sessions with Melissa invaluable. Whether discussing something specific that I selected or if I was generally rambling, not a single session was wasted... Melissa listens, acts as a neutral sounding board to your business issues, gives appropriate recommendations for further study/interests, has a wide range of experience to draw upon and ensures you get as much out of the sessions as possible. I cannot recommend her enough and when appropriate, I will be calling on her services again. Thank you Melissa. Richard Brough

I worked with Melissa on a one to one basis over a 3-month period where she helped me better understand certain situations that occur in my regular working environment. Melissa is an excellent listener who worked hard to make sure that as the client, I came up with the answers to my challenges through her facilitation. She has made me more self-aware and also better prepared for tackling situations in the workplace. Going forward I'd happily work more with Melissa on a range of topics when needed. Many thanks! General Manager, Hotel & Golf Club

I was fortunate enough to receive five hours coaching with Melissa at a significantly challenging point in my career. I found her honesty, experience and ability to think critically about issues invaluable. As events were moving quickly between sessions Melissa's thorough preparation work was sometimes thrown out of context and I was very impressed with her agility to pivot onto new issues and quickly create a new framework for a positive and impactful session. However, the preparation was not at all wasted as the time invested in getting to know me and my challenges provided exceptional value to the sessions. This was my first experience of being coached and Melissa ensured I really got the most out of the experience. Highly recommended for anyone who could benefit from impactful coaching. Architect

Melissa is a brilliant coach, her enthusiasm for professional development is unmistakeable in the advice and guidance she provides. Professional yet approachable, I always feel at ease in her presence. Melissa has helped me immensely to overcome self-limiting beliefs, focus on my own unique abilities and give me the confidence to take the next step in my legal career. The interview based skills and tools used by Melissa are practical and effective, I am now able to present myself in a positive and professional manner and deal confidently and comfortably with difficult issues/questions. I would have no hesitation in recommending Melissa to anyone wishing to further develop their professional career. Solicitor

I wanted to improve my interview technique after having several unsuccessful job interviews and get to the bottom of what was holding me back. Melissa was very friendly and approachable, so I could open up and relax with her. She helped me to discuss the problems I had with interviews and we looked at alternative ways of dealing with them, including preparation beforehand and how to structure my answers. She used Myers-Briggs to help me to determine my personality type and despite my initial cynicism it gave some very accurate results! I had 6 sessions with Melissa and at the end of the coaching I am happy to say I secured a new (higher grade) job at another Higher Education institution. I definitely believe Melissa’s guidance helped me and I highly recommend her. I feel that I have learnt a lot from the sessions with her and can use the knowledge and my new perspective in the future too. University Clerical Officer

I would like to thank you very much for your patience and support during our coaching sessions. It has been extremely interesting and helpful; the national grid must have been working hard to cope with the number of light bulbs we have switched on. Payroll Team Leader
