About me

Let this month be great! #FabulousFebruary #BeFlexible #HaveFaith #Fly!

Hello! Welcome to Agdela Coaching and Fresh Air Fridays. I am Melanie Faulks and I'm a Work Psychologist, Life Coach and #FreshAirFridays Facilitator. I help you with wellbeing, life and work - especially after sickness.

My services are 1-1 Employment & Life Coaching (Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioural & NLP) and small group wellbeing sessions - outdoors in nature.

For #FreshAirFridays

Welcome to #FreshAirFridays in Newport. My outdoor group sessions on the coast, in a forest and in your local park! Your opportunity to stop, relax, recharge and explore how to create the life you want - and all whilst taking a walk in glorious nature.

1st Wednesday of every month and the Friday that follows at 10am -1pm.

Come along and see what we do for yourself! Your first attendance is FREE of charge.

If you are a #FreshAirFridays member, you're already sorted for a year and if you're returning via Pay As You Go, it's £28 at the door - well, the gate!

"I stayed chilled for days." Dany.

"It's all about wellbeing and my thinking becomes clearer too." Elizabeth

For Agdela Coaching

My 1-1 coaching services are:

  • Employment Coaching - What are your current work related needs, aims and aspirations? How is it all going?
  • Life Coaching - Is your life the best it can be? Whatever that means to you..... or not quite yet? Tried the Life Audit yet?

Let's chat - especially if you're working in Health & Social Care or are returning to work after sickness. Take a look at the Agdela Coaching 'Return To Work' journey on my website: https://www.agdela.co.uk/back-to-work

If my Health and Social Care coaching service sounds like it might be for you, find more information here: https://www.agdela.co.uk/health-and-social-care-staff

What is coaching?

Coaching is all about being the best you can be and achieving in life what you really hoped for - and it's for anyone! Anyone who wants to make changes to, or make progress with, a particular area(s) of their life. It is also for people who may have started already but have become stuck or stalled.

And if you don't know where to start, I can help with that too!

There's a 'How I Can Help You' video below.

A coach helps you step back and reflect on your current situation, including yourself, and decide on new (usually exciting!) goals or assess your current goals and direction. Together, you'll work out how best you're going to move forwards and create action plans that work - effective ones! Coaches are impartial and as you work towards achieving your goals, they provide encouragement, a constructive sounding board and motivation. They will also discuss progress with you and you will receive non-judgemental (but sometimes gently challenging!) feedback. They also assist you to address any set backs and practical obstacles.

In addition to being Solution Focused, I'm a Cognitive Behavioural and NLP coach. This means I can help you to overcome those psychological obstacles (unhelpful and hampering thoughts, feelings and behaviours) that we often encounter along the way to achievement and success.

You will get to know yourself better and increase your personal insight, skills and confidence for future activities and aspirations too.

What's your full potential? And when are you planning to reach for it?

"Thank you, I feel happier, more positive and more willing to be open to new opportunities." Jo, 35, who was at a crossroads in life and navigated some important decisions.

"Melanie was very personable and sensitive to changing work circumstances. I recognised my abilities to problem solve, goal set with time lines and see things that I don't feel passion for as 'projects' with end points." Naomi, 47, Health Services Professional.

"Your support was invaluable when you feel that you are no good to anyone in the work market of today. Thanks, I will let you know later in the year how things are progressing." Alan, 54, returned to work after a period of anxiety & depression.

Melanie really helped me to refocus my priorities and give me better perspective over my work life." James, 42, Charity Sector Manager.

"After the first talk we had, I felt you were helping me already and I had confidence in you to help." Steve, 31, who has a permanent physical disability and became self employed.

"Working through my challenges with Melanie has helped me achieve a much improved work/life balance. I now have the tools to make that sustainable." Emma, 36, Local Government Manager.

"My work with Melanie has helped me a lot. I've put the new assessment process in place and my motivation and creativity at work as increased alongside." Anonymous feedback received as part of the evaluation of 1-1 staff coaching at a housing association.

Your new thinking and planning partner awaits...!

Fees

I offer monthly 1-1 coaching from £60 to £180 per month depending on session location and duration (half day, 2 hours, 1 hour). We meet up in person and you can choose from outdoor coaching (alongside some walking of course!), coffee shop coaching (in pre-selected and comfortable venues) or a private coaching room. I use the comfortable consulting rooms at Wellbeing Solutions, Newport and the R&R Consulting Centre, Cardiff. Do let me know if you would like to meet but live a little further away from Newport and Cardiff - I would be glad to explore potential options with you.

1-1 Coaching - the first step

I believe that all coaching should begin with a NO-OBLIGATION coaching consultation/chemistry meeting so this is the first step in all my 1-1 services. We can meet at a choice of pre-selected and comfortable coffee shops for £30 or you can choose a private room coaching consultation for £50. I introduce coaching and you tell me about your needs, hopes, aspirations and knowledge of coaching - all in confidence of course.

The quality of the relationship between you and your coach is important to the success of the coaching programme.

If, after chatting, we think we can work well together and meet each other's expectations, then great and we'll make a start!

Your first 1-1 coaching session

First, we'll meet for a 2 hour 'Reflect, Explore and Plan' launch session. Here, we really start to focus and reflect on your hopes and aims, explore and choose goals and - by the end of the session - you'll have an anticipated coaching programme and a 'ready to go!' action plan.

I always ask if you want to take a photograph of any notes I may have captured. People say how helpful they are! ....and you're off!

Your anticipated coaching programme includes the purpose of the coaching, outcome measures, anticipated location and duration of our coaching sessions, cost and payment method, cancellation policy, confidentiality, between session contact, how to address any arising issues and service evaluation.

The cost of your 2 hour 'Reflect, Explore and Plan' session is:

Outdoors & Coffee shop venue: £120

Consulting room venue: £160

Subsequent 1-1 coaching sessions

Following your 2 hour launch session, we'll probably start meeting monthly. You can choose from half day, 2 hours or 1 hour coaching sessions and these range from £60 to £180 per month depending on your chosen location - outdoors, coffee shop or private coaching room.

Associate/contract work with Health and Social Care employers and Vocational Rehabilitation providers is negotiated separately.

Pro-bono coaching

I provide a free 'return to work' coaching service to Shaw Trust in Newport. Let me know if you are an organisation interested in this type of opportunity.

Payment terms

Advance payment is required, payment is accepted via PayPal, Bank Transfer, Standing Order and I operate a 48 hour cancellation policy.

Contract terms

I offer a rolling monthly contract with no minimum tie-in period.
