Training, qualifications & experience

My journey into coaching began when I was made redundant in December 2011. My confidence took a dip and I decided that it was time to put some thought into what I ultimately wanted to do for my career. During my research, I found a coach and decided to sign up for some sessions.

The coaching sessions really helped me establish the career that I wanted and also helped my general confidence, especially in my ability and the skills that I have.

Christina Smith - Excellent coach and a really useful process. Matthew helped me steer through some tricky times and come out the other side with a clearer idea of what I want and need, and how to get there.

Penny Haynes - I found Matt very calm and supportive and hit it off with him from our very first session. Matt was supportive and asked great questions sometimes challenging which was what I needed.
I found our sessions very helpful as it gave me time to think and explore all possible solutions before taking action. I have made decisions and taken steps with coaching that I would still be procrastinating over if I hadn't had done so.

Francoise Cosgrove - Matt was an excellent coach, he made me feel I could take the coaching at my own pace, setting goals that were real and meaningful to me that I could achieve and move forward, step by step!

I was able to change a limiting view I had held of myself for some time and implement a healthier life style that I have continued with long after the coaching finished. His coaching style is very validating and non judgemental, always encouraging and gently motivating me to go just one step further. I would recommend Matt to anyone, if you want to make changes in your life at your pace, so its real and sustainable.

Jo Hill - Matt is brilliant! He enabled me to really understand what I wanted (and how to get there) during a bit of a crossroads in my life. The process was not always easy but Matt's friendly, relaxed approach made it a pleasure. He is very easy to talk to and totally non judgemental. With his help I have made some real changes and feel much more in control of my future career.

Sohail Ahmed – I was in various different minds and couldn't decide what to do with my professional career going forward. Thankfully I met Matt and his coaching has helped me in identifying and defining my goals clearly. I am much more confident after my coaching with Matt and have a crystal clear vision for my professional career. Thank you Matt for your time and outstanding coaching.

Jennifer Gyebi-Ababio – Being coached by Matt has been very useful and empowering. On the four occasions that he coached me his questioning style provoked and opened up options that I would not have been able to attain by myself. I particularly found useful the way he provided me with thinking time through silence so I was able to come up with things that I never would have thought of……and then he would say what else again!!

Prior to the coaching sessions I felt overwhelmed with life as I had so many things going on and also found myself in unfamiliar territory for which I felt I had no control. I needed coaching to help me become more focused and see things for what they are without dwelling on it and feeling powerless.

Key things that I have learnt through my coaching is that I in addition to having an overall goal – I need to create smaller manageable goals and targets to help me gradually achieve my ultimate goal. It feels far less daunting to me in this way and I’m able to set myself achievable targets by considering what may get in the way and whether it is something I really want. I feel more motivated, engaged and in control of my life.

Matt’s coaching has really empowered me to be a ‘considered driver’ of my life’ and noticing and considering various options that I may have available to me at any cross road so I can manoeuvre through life and achieve my goals/

Thanks Matt! You are a Gem and I really appreciate your efforts in this journey.

Steven Marks – Matt has worked with me to determine areas of my life that may have been falling short of their full potential and we worked through work life, financial goals and family issues. Being coached by Matt has made me focus on what is important, and to plan on how to achieve specific tasks by eliminating routes that cannot be followed and opening up new paths that can. While I wasn't the easiest client to work with Matt was resilient and did not give up and for this, I am grateful.
