About me

Why me?

I’m passionate about facilitating change for the better -whatever changes you want to make, I can make them happen with you and support you through them. I'm trained in personal, business (executive/ leadership) and parenting coaching, so whatever your age and issue, I'm ready to work with you. With a career in teaching, training and leadership as well as my coaching career, my skills in listening with compassion and unconditional positive regard make me able to provide the ideal listening environment to help you become the best version of yourself, no matter what your background, life stage or situation.

What can coaching do for you?

It’s all about giving you the time and space to formulate your goals, and explore the ways to reach them that you hold within you. Don’t worry if you’ve tried to make changes before - with me you’ll have the quality of listening, compassion, individual attention, tools and techniques to really make change happen this time! We often don't have the time to sit and really reflect on how we can help ourselves - coaching offers you the time and space to do just this. Just an hour and a half of your time once a week, bi-weekly or even monthly can make an enormous difference to the quality of the rest of your time, and can be life-changing. Why not invest in yourself?

Where do I work?

I can come to you and work with you at home with you if you're within a twenty mile radius (this can be negotiated so if you're a bit further, still do get in touch). This is the way I tend to work with clients but some prefer to meet somewhere neutral, in a quiet coffee shop, for example, which is also fine. Alternatively, we can Skype, which is also highly effective.

How much do I charge?

Please see below for rates - concessions are available as are discounts for block bookings.

What should I expect in our first meeting ?

Before we have our first session, I offer a FREE INTRODUCTORY HALF HOUR, either by phone or face-to-face, so that we can be sure we're right for each other. WE'll chat a bit more about coaching and what's led you to it, and I'll run through what you might expect from me.

What's the first coaching session like?

Usually the agenda in coaching is completely led by you, but the first session is a little bit different. We'll do a little bit of fact finding and questioning to gather just enough background to arrive at the goal you want to reach or change you want to make. You don't have to talk loads about your childhood or tell me your life story - some background is useful but we do use a couple of tools to just cut through to what really matters to you and help you formulate your ideas.

Training, qualifications & experience

My background

I’m a fully qualified coach - my training was with the highly respected Barefoot coaching company - do Google them and have a look at the brilliant work they do. I’m currently in the process of extending this to a Post Graduate qualification, to give that extra depth of research and theory to the wide range of experience I have.

I first qualified as Coach for Performance in the Workplace in 2000 with the University of Newcastle; this was as part of my career in teaching. During my twenty years in teaching, which included ten years in leadership (up to Deputy Head of a large, outstanding Teaching School), I coached many colleagues to improve their performance in the workplace. I loved this part of my work as it was so rewarding to watch my colleagues grow and flourish, and this led me to pursue coaching further and teach only part time.

My experience

I’ve coached many different types of change, both personal and professional - some of the most popular issues/ goals include

  • Business start ups
  • Small business owners looking for support and challenge
  • New to leadership roles
  • Time management
  • Career change/ transition/ redundancy
  • Weight loss
  • Motivation for getting fit
  • Improving relationships with children/ family
  • Stress management
  • How to make more time for yourself

This is just a short example - no goal is too big or small!

I charge £60 per one and a half hour session, but will offer discounts for block bookings of six to ten sessions. The rate is £330 per 6 sessions booked, and £500 per 10.

I can also offer concessions for students, unemployed and retired clients. Please contact me for details.

All fees are payable by Bank Transfer and must be completed either before or on the day of the session.

You can contact the life coach to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
