The Setting: A coach will listen to your story. You won't feel that you're being judged and there is no risk of upsetting someone you love while sharing your thoughts and aspirations. Thinking things through during your coaching session gives you the freedom to explore your options without hearing someone else's point of view.
You'll have the permission you've been looking for to change, and the support you need while you put your ideas to the test. You'll also learn some tools and techniques to make things easier and, most importantly, you will have an agreed time frame to complete your actions - what better way to ensure that things get done.
My approach: Every coach will have a different approach, you just need to find someone you feel you can work with. My feeling about life is that it is like a broken jigsaw puzzle without a picture. Some people are good at finding all the pieces and slotting them together, some people need a bit of help. In fact, most of us need some help some of the time.
So, using that analogy, in the sessions we'll look at all of the pieces you already have. It may be that we need to look closely at a couple of pieces to check they're in the right place. There might be pieces out there that you've completely overlooked or you've looked at them the wrong way round. From the first session we'll start building the foundation (putting the edge pieces together if you like) and pretty soon you'll be able to see big picture.

Training, qualifications & experience
My life has taken many turns over the years and I've often been pulled in directions that have led me to feel unhappy. I've always found that taking control of life's events has made me feel at peace with myself and has filled me with confidence. By changing direction, sometimes at the most difficult times, I've been able to turn negativity into a positive outcome. These leaps have helped shape my career and have led me to coaching individuals, couples and businesses, and teaching birdwatching to adults.
I have a Life Coaching Diploma and I'm a qualified learning and development professional with specific emphasis on improving individual and organisational performance. I also have an honours degree in health sciences, which gives me a deep understanding of physiological issues relating to many human conditions including stress, going through change, dieting, fear and anxiety.
My background in research; organisational development in local government; and the higher education sector gives me the knowledge and experience to understand complex workplace issues.

I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to explore issues. This is followed by 45 minute, one-to-one coaching sessions. I prefer to see my clients in person and only hold telephone/on-line consultations when the coaching relationship has been firmly established.
Pricing is as follows:
£50 for an individual coaching session
£80 per session for couples
Group bookings can be arranged for a maximum of 10 people where friends or family would like to share the life coaching experience. Contact me to arrange a price. I also organise group sessions at a number of venues across the city - see local advertisers for details.
Sometimes just getting outdoors can help you change your perspective and give you time to focus. I run birdwatching classes for small groups of beginners to help people learn about birds in a friendly and supportive environment. You can even book me for a one-to-one for some individual tuition and support while you learn.
Many people who take part in this activity find that it helps them to focus and connect with the natural world.
