About me

Are you deeply concerned about climate crisis, biodiversity loss and social justice? I work with people who:

🌳 want to make a real difference to the world by preventing further damage and seeking ways to restore our beautiful planet for future generations and other life forms

🌳 are keen to find ways to overcome deeply ingrained systems and "business as usual cultures" that are holding us back

🌳 want to make space for climate emotions and conversations that you can't always have with friends, family and colleagues

🌳 recognise that we need to go beyond individual behavioural change and instead to transform our relationships with each other and the living world.

I know that thinking about and working on these issues can be exhausting and distressing at times, yet exhilarating at others when you get breakthroughs. In fact you might be someone who is deeply affected by climate and eco anxiety, and who wants to find ways forward whilst not denying the reality of our multiple predicaments.   As your coach and thinking partner, I’ll help you rekindle agency without brushing your feelings under the carpet or getting completely submerged by them. I can help you to work on practical, emotional and relational challenges, and develop new perspectives, skills, and strategies.

I work with:

  • Change makers working in sustainability, climate, environmental and social issues, helping them to focus, prioritise, build strong relationships, stay the course and overcome barriers to progress;
  • Career changers yearning for a more meaningful career that positively impacts the world, but don’t know what their talents are, where they are needed or how to make the transition;
  • Social entrepreneurs building new ventures in the service of a better more inclusive, equitable society and planet;
  • Influencers who want to communicate, connect and engage others more skilfully in climate and environmental issues, and to stay resilient in the face of denial or seeming indifference;
  • Activists and advocates working on the challenging front line, helping them to look after themselves and their mental wellbeing, and avoid burnout as they strive to look after our planet;
  • Coaches who want to focus their practice on coaching for people and planet, whilst earning a fair living (I offer both coaching and supervision to professional coaches).

Sometimes my clients have had a painful, isolating "climate awakening" or identity crisis and want time and space to work through their feelings, rediscover their mojo and channel their energies positively. The changes we're witnessing and experiencing in our world can evoke all kinds of complex defences, responses and emotions, often all at once, and climate psychology can offer us some useful perspectives and tools to make space for these.

I work with people funded by their organisation and with private clients, and I coach individuals, teams and groups with an overarching common purpose.

For organisational clients I coach by Zoom and in person (mainly in and around Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, London and the West Midlands).

For private clients I generally work on Zoom unless they are located close to my base (CV36) when we can meet in person, subject to agreement of a suitable venue.

Typically 1:1 sessions are over 1.5 hours, over 3-6 months, meeting every 2-3 weeks as needed, usually over 6 or more sessions. For teams and groups it varies widely.

🌞 In 2024 I was awarded a Lifetime Achievement award by Coaching at Work magazine for my 30+ years of contributions to the coaching profession, and also specifically in Climate Coaching.

🌞  I'm a founding member of the Climate Coaching Alliance and I write about Climate Coaching for Coaching at Work magazine and Therapy Today.

🌞  I also teach, support and supervise other coaches, therapists and development practitioners, particularly in the Thinking Environment, as Faculty of Time to Think. I support this with more traditional coaching techniques and tools when doing so will help you to make progress.

Whatever your change, shift, challenge or aspirations, I welcome your connecting. You can contact me - in confidence - at linda@aspey.com if you'd like to find out more.

Here's what some of my clients say:

“Linda is a highly skilled and intuitive coach and facilitator who has a wonderful ability to bring a group together, develop a powerful sense of team and galvanise great decision making and action. I could not recommend her highly enough.” Ewan, CEO at Platfform, in Wales

"Linda is inspiring. Every time I have a coaching session I come away buzzing with ideas even when I have started the session "knowing" that there are no solutions. Linda is encouraging, motivating, supportive and fun. Her Time to Think courses have transformed the way I think and how I help others to think. I can thoroughly recommend her". Anneke, Engineering Director.

“I've worked with Linda at three companies; time spent with her gives you a chance to think through an approach to problems, and you leave having developed some concrete ideas as to what to change. She’s had a great impact both on my own and my team’s career development." Nigel, MD

Further information

Since 2019 I have specialised in helping adults and young people to engage and face into difficult feelings on climate, environment and social crises and particularly to understand and work through climate and eco-anxiety (which are very natural responses to the multiple crises we are facing, but which can be overwhelming or paralysing if left unaddressed).

I also write and speak on climate psychology, and run in house workshops for organisations who want to help their staff to engage in climate projects with a sense of agency and hope.

I have a number of recommendations on my Linked In profile - please visit there for more details.
