I am a fully qualified Life Coach based in Scotland. I work with clients to help them to find their inner strength so they can take on whatever life throws at them in order to lead their best life; whether this is to overcome adversity, release themselves from toxic relationships, change to a more fulfilling and satisfying career or even just to help them stand up for themselves and their beliefs. I also work with clients who are feeling lost and looking to discover who they are. When you have Inner Strength, nothing is impossible. All change starts with a mindset, change your perspective, change your life.
Many people live in fear of changing their life even when they aren’t happy with the way their life is, many find comfort in the “known” however uncomfortable that may actually be and fear going towards the unknown. I myself was in that predicament, for 13 years working in the Finance industry, never satisfied with how I was living my life. As a society we are taught many conditioned ways of thinking, we live our life trying to fit into the boxes society deem to be good for us, so we can fit in, so we feel accepted, so we feel successful, but when we look at our own truth and look at what satisfies us, makes us as individuals happy, we see society’s way of thinking and living is not always the best for us as individuals. We as a society have a habit of trying to fit everyone into little boxes, the internet is full of personality type quizzes, which often don’t give a true and accurate picture, take me for example, I’ve met people who are the “same” personality type as I am who in reality are actually nothing like me, and I’ve met others who are apparently the completely opposite personality type, but are actually more like me. As individuals we need to stop listening to what personality quizzes/society/friends and family tell us who we are and believe us to be and instead look to ourselves to find out who we are. We as a whole have a habit of telling each other who the other is, and tend to believe it when someone tells us we are a certain way, especially when it’s negative, but in reality that’s just other’s opinion, they do not live in your mind or heart, they do not truly know who you are, they can only offer opinion based on what they see and their interpretation of that vision. You are the only person who can provide an accurate picture of who you are. You don’t belong in a box, don’t allow others to put you there.
Although I was in a highly regarded profession and doing very well for myself according to society’s rules and standards, I was seen as winning in life but I felt like I was losing. I was miserable, the environment went against everything I believed in, the professional world is a very competitive world, it’s about being better than everyone else, standing on each other rather than lifting and helping each other, so for someone who has spent their life helping others, being a team player and believing working together is better as it produces better results, it was a major culture shock and was very damaging to me mentally. As well as damaging my mental health it started changing who I was at my core; I was becoming bitter and I found myself wanting to hide myself away. I had always been a people person, I always loved being around people, helping and working together but I started to avoid people whenever I could. I started believing people were awful, that they didn’t deserve help, I didn’t like this change in me, couldn’t accept that change so I decided I had to do something about it. The thing is it’s not the people that are awful it’s the way society teaches us to be, you need to be better than everyone else, need to have more, achieve more etc. It took me awhile to find my courage to break free and to work through what was conditioned thinking and what was my own values and beliefs. I went deep within to find out who I was, what my values were, what was important to me, find where I belong, and how I wanted to live my life, which is what lead me to becoming a life coach and mentor as a profession. My passion is people, I love helping people and I love being around people from all different walks of life, we all have so much to teach each other, we just need to be willing to learn. All my adult life for all who know me I have been the go to person for advice/ideas/new perspectives as I excel at this, my unique way of thinking has helped many people change the course of their life. I help others realize their own potential and find their own inner strength to live their life their way.
Life Coaching is a personal thing, where you must feel comfortable opening up to your coach and feel able to talk about anything with them. In order to determine if I am a good fit for you and to see if I can help you as an individual I offer an initial free consultation, I will not take on a client I do not think I can help. Life has taught me everyone as unique therefore my coaching is not a one size fits all approach and is tailored to each individual.
