Karen Hayns MSc - Future Perfect

Hello and a very warm welcome to Future Perfect.
I am a post-graduate Executive, Group and Life coach with more than 25 years' experience in business. Now in its 5th year, my practice continues to evolve as I work with leaders, teams and private individuals from all walks of life. It is by understanding the themes that emerge in my clients' work which enables me to keep my practice relevant - so important in a world which is both uncertain and change driven.
My Coaching Philosophy - Working Inside Out
As a coach I care deeply about creating meaningful change, however, good outcomes are just part of the process. I will help you develop your own sense of self by learning about how you experience the world and how others in your world experience you. And so insight informs outcomes. By working inside out we become adept at seeing the world from many perspectives.
Together we will create opportunities to capitalise on your attributes, and pay attention to the things that others see that you don’t. It is this new awareness which becomes key to creating choice and change in your life.
Clients tell me how liberating it feels to tread new ground without feeling judged. A whole new world of possibility opens up and the results can be truly life changing.
So, if you are curious and open-minded, then the world really is your oyster.
Special Interest Areas
Weightloss and weight management. Having struggled with my own weight for more than 30 years, I joined Slimming World in 2016 and a year later reached my dream weight losing 3.5 stone - something I never imagined possible. Losing weight, like so many things is as much about mood and mindset as it is following a healthy eating plan. That's the obvious bit! I have now opened my first Slimming World group at Beaconsfield High School on a Tuesday evening at 7.30pm. Do get in touch if you would like to know more. If joining a group is not your thing, perhaps private weight loss coaching might appeal more? Designed around your lifestyle, eating patterns, habits and triggers I will help you achieve some amazing results.
I also work with adults and children who suffer with Trichotillomania (TTM), a little known compulsive hair-pulling condition that I suffered with since the age of 11. I have been pull-free for several years and now offer coaching to those with the condition.
I few years ago I began to offer coaching to those who suffer with hoarding disorder. This is typically a very private and isolating issue, often building up over a period of many years which means it can be difficult to acknowledge and talk about. I would be very happy to discuss a programme of interventions to help manage and overcome this condition.
Finally, as an adoptee I have spent a lifetime understanding the importance of building and maintaining healthy relationships. I truly believe that a coaching approach to adoption, whether you're an adoptee or an adoptive parent, can positively impact your own adoption story.
Training, qualifications & experience
I offer clients extensive experience in legal and professional services (partnerships), outsourcing/offshoring and retail. Over the years I have worked with culturally diverse teams and specialised in delivering business change programmes to international and global businesses, working to overcome organisational issues such as fear, loss of control and mis-trust.
Clients and colleagues describe me as trustworthy, insightful, and deeply respectful and someone that can be relied upon in good times and bad. I also came to realise that learning from failure and understanding why things go wrong is just as important as the sense of satisfaction and the thrill of success when things go well.
Coaching experience – one-to-one and groups
My work is a mix of one-to-one, leadership team and team coaching where I typically work with groups of up to 8 although I have worked with groups of up to 25. My preference, however, is the intimacy of smaller groups where the dynamics of interpersonal relationships can more easily be experienced by all members. This leads to greater group cohesion, better outcomes and where any earlier tension gives rise to new insights which in turn helps members to understand, appreciate and embrace individual differences. I work with teams at all stages of development, from formation to adjournment (endings).
Issues explored include, career transition, relational conflict, understanding personal values, stress and overwhelm, awareness (self and others), understanding strengths and finding meaningful work, trust and mis-trust, complex issue resolution using action learning sets, developing empathy, and dealing with competition and rivalry.

'I am on my weight loss journey after years of yo-yo dieting. I joined slimming world which has been fab but I got complacent and started to go up and down again due to not always staying focussed. After a 6 week plan with Karen I have been amazed by the habits which have come to light and how my whole mind-set has changed over a short period. A combination of the two has resulted in me losing weight each week'
Jane W, Loudwater, Buckinghamshire
"As part of Henley Business School's management programme, I was given an opportunity to be coached by Karen. She has one of those pleasant personalities which brings you at ease instantly. Her coaching style is unique and driven by compassion and deep listening. She comes with very good solutions to help individuals to really listen to internal dialogue and help find solutions. I will highly recommend Karen as coach for corporates or for an individual".
H Joshi, Executive MBA Student
"Karen is both a very kind and professional lady. Her work extends above and beyond and for me most importantly, Karen remains free from judgement. Her emotional intelligence is off the scale. No issue is too great or small and you are never meant to feel it is irrelevant.
Karen's indisputable warmth is a huge credit to her and her profession. If you are prepared to both talk and listen to a coach, I couldn't suggest a better person. I would like to thank Karen for always listening to my difficulties and never discrediting any issues I have. It is completely refreshing to meet somebody who can give you impartial advice which I am happy with as well".
Alex F, Great Missenden, Bucks
"Karen (future perfect consulting) has really helped me to realise that with the right attitude, approach and discipline, I can improve my lifestyle hugely, both immediately and long-term.
She has opened up my eyes to just how quickly improvements can be made. She has always been extremely supportive, even texting in-between sessions, helping me with that next step! I have found it a fascinating and very positive experience working with Karen.
Thank you Karen."
