Hi I'm Julie - Life Coach for Parents.
I help you support your child & make family life flow
Do you long to feel more hopeful about your family's future?
Often the dream of family life and the reality are very different. You love your child and want them to be happy, but family life is difficult. You’re not sure how to meet their unique needs and help them to thrive.
You find yourself constantly questioning your decisions, treading on eggshells, dreading disagreements and worrying about what the future looks like for your family.
When you’re not sure how to best support your child and other people around you don't seem to understand it can feel very lonely and overwhelming.
Self doubt, guilt, loneliness, frustration and exhaustion can rob you of the happiness of family life and it sucks.
You want to rediscover the joy, happiness and fun of family life and help your child to be able to navigate the ups and downs of life so they can thrive in their unique way, but you’re not sure where to start.
This is where I can help.
One small step at a time.
Coaching is a great tool for parents who are feeling stuck and overwhelmed. I work with you to help you identify what you want for your family, gain insights on what is happening at the moment and a better understanding of your child and then find practical, achievable steps forward so each family member can thrive.
I always start with a free initial consultation to ensure that my services are the right fit for your family. I have a range of options available including 1:1, couples and group sessions.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained with the Coaching Academy where I did a Personal Performance Coaching Diploma and passed with distinction. I'm a member of the Association For Coaching as part of my ongoing professional accountability and development.
I was a foster carer for 7 years as well as being a mum to my 2 birth children. As well as my training and experience as a foster carer, I worked as a teacher for many years in a pupil referral unit. Many of the pupils had been excluded or were not attending mainstream education due to anxiety related issues. I still do some work with young people, many of whom have special educational needs in a local independent school which offers bespoke education.
I have an NVQ level 3 in Counselling Skills and Studies.
Areas of coaching I deal with
Other areas of coaching I deal with
I have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs throughout my career. A lot of my clients have children who are struggling to meet everyday expectations, often where school is concerned. Many clients are wondering if there is more going on for their child eg neurodiversity or additional needs than is recognised by schools and other caregivers. Advocating for your child's needs, especially those children who are falling through the gaps in the system can be incredibly stressful and coaching can be a great resource both for identifying how you can best support your child as well as caring for your own wellbeing.

"Spending time chatting with Julie has been transformative in tackling some of the parenting challenges we've faced. I have never felt judged, she allows you to be completely honest and she has an amazing ability to empower you to find some solutions or ideas to move forward. I love her realism about family life and would highly recommend her."
Feedback from a client from a group programme.
"Family life is stressful enough but with news of an unexpected learning difficulty on top I was stumped and struggling. Working with Julie gave me a safe space to come where both my insight and needs were valued. She helped me navigate our new reality with great skill and empathy and the results have been life-changing. Within the family our relationships and understanding of each other has increased massively and we have a much less stressful time despite the challenges the different life stages throw at us."
