Business & Leadership Coach I Positive Psychology Coach MSc

About me

With 20 years of experience in leadership & executive positions in corporate and commercial roles, I combine my passions for coaching and leadership.

I accompany my clients on their learning and development journey enabling growth and guiding them to their desired coaching outcomes and goals. I apply a number of evidence-based coaching approaches, including positive psychology, and focus on resilience, achievement, and well-being. My strengths-based approach ensures clients are aware and aligned to their strengths and values. That alignment creates clarity, meaningful goals, and enables clients to achieve their goals with ease and authenticity.

I have also conducted extensive research on burnout and focus on burnout prevention and recovery, enabling growth and enhanced resilience through that experience.

I work with organisations and private clients. My clients vary from senior leaders and middle management to aspiring managers, leaders, and executives and I work on a variety of topics such as:

  • Living authentically - through the alignment of values and strengths to life and career
  • Well-being – through self-acceptance, self-confidence, personal growth, positive relationships, self-esteem, meaning & purpose
  • Enhancing performance through strengths application and setting meaningful goals
  • Resilience – through acceptance, dealing with emotions, enabling sufficient recovery, and applying strengths in challenging situations
  • Career progression, career transition, life transition
  • Work-life balance, burnout prevention, burnout recovery
  • Positive and authentic leadership

My coaching sessions are journeys of self-discovery and typically cover these 3 areas:

1.  Discover your core identity – exploring and unlocking your strengths, values, beliefs, motivation, meaning & purpose

2.  Discover your goal – defining a meaningful goal that is aligned to your values & strength – to your true self (rather than external factors)

3.  Discover your path – exploring the best possible path leading you to your goal while being authentic.

How to get started?

If coaching with me sounds like something that may be of benefit to you, then get in touch to book a free 30 -45 mins discovery call. During that call we get to know each other, I will tell you more about how I work, and you can tell me what you are hoping to achieve from coaching and I will also answer any questions you have. There is no commitment or obligation, you can take your time to think about whether coaching is the right approach for you and whether you would like to work with me. I typically recommend having 2 or 3 of these calls to make sure you find the right coach for you. Most clients find already the discovery call quite insightful, so you essentially have nothing to lose.

If you decide to go ahead, then sessions can be scheduled flexibly to fit around your schedule and can be held online (with video or without) or in person (if that is possible).

Here are some client testimonials:

AC, Project Coordinator, London:

"After I lost my job, I was at a crossroad trying to figure out what I really wanted to do. As soon as I started working with Julia she helped me tremendously in being honest with myself, understanding what I would love to do and not be afraid of it. She always provided useful insights, and I can genuinely say that I have felt uplifted, positive and more confident after every session we have had. Working with Julia has been life-changing for me."

KO, retired, business founder and former Director and Managing Director, London:

“She is a highly effective coach with excellent listening skills. The sessions were both enjoyable in themselves and unlocked new insights and actions.  Julia challenged me beautifully, I felt seen, heard, supported and stretched throughout.  As a result of the coaching and insights gained from it, I changed my thinking and actions around the issues I was dealing with, which made a difference to my life. I would heartily recommend Julia as a Coach.”

KH, Coach and Mentor, Deal:

“Thank you, Julia, for your compassionate and insightful coaching when I was wanting to make some big changes in my life. You bring humanity and perspective with your presence and I especially appreciated your ability to keep me focused with endless patience and humour when I would want to explore yet another rabbit hole. Your support during my ADHD diagnosis journey has helped me both develop the necessary self-compassion to better ride the waves and develop my own map for a clearer way ahead. My progress over the last year has been more than I could have imagined and your clarity and belief in me has been a big part of that, thank you.

KH, Head of Alumni Engagement & Development Education, Bristol:

“I’ve really enjoyed working with Julia and the journey that we’ve been on.  I felt very comfortable working with her so closely, she’s very easy to work with.  Julia’s not only a great listener but always asked pertinent and often challenging questions whilst providing a safe space to answer them.

When I started seeing Julia, I was at a crossroads with my career and felt stuck in a job which I enjoy but which had limited career progression.  Julia helped me to articulate my goal, leading to a new challenge and to create some change.  Over the months working with Julia, my self-confidence grew as I was able to reflect on my leadership qualities and demonstrate where I can add value across my organisation. The work we did on my signature strengths was particularly helpful as I began to understand what impact they have on myself and others.  The work with Julia enabled me to begin to influence senior colleagues and implement change in my team as well as across the organisation.”

KS, MSc Urban Design Candidate, Berlin

“I have always looked forward to the coaching sessions with Julia, because with her positive and emphatic nature, she gives you the feeling of docking in a safe harbour. My initial goal was to have a clear vision of the rest of my career at the end of the coaching. Julia and I approached the goal together in a way that suited me and through her great support, I feel recharged with self-confidence and self-assurance. With exciting and fun ways she supported me to align myself to my strengths and reinstate lightness and a basic sense of trust. In the sessions themselves, through mindful listening, smart questions and a positive mindset, she traced inner struggles that I could not articulate myself. In my mental clutter, she was the voice that could simplify complex and disjointed issues. The career coaching ultimately turned into a sustainable collaboration process that showed me how to most appropriately move through life.

Thank you Julia! I hope you can inspire many more people with your positive nature and support them on their way.”
