About us

A London-based versatile, experienced coach, with excellent supporting skills in strategic thinking, relationship building, mindfulness, serving a range of public and private sector clients in their personal and professional success. I have chosen to work on mindset change for motivation with leaders and aspiring leaders in the Education sector, a key sector for a society in change.

Working through my company Ruuvand, I receive clients from a belief in infinite possibilities, the clients and mine.  I employ curiosity and listening as core tools to shift mindsets, unlock insights, solutions, and challenges. This is because "Who you are being" is often the key to success.  I form a true partnership where the client has a larger stake and my full commitment is to their success.

Building rapport quickly and remaining light but challenging in conversations, undergraduates and other young aspiring leaders find my style accessible and over the past 5 years, many have had surprising successes in academic results, career choices, work experience, further study, and graduate jobs.

My style works as well for:

  • leaders
  • lawyers
  • academics
  • entrepreneurs
  • executives
  • parents
  • employees
  • managers.

Where do the sessions take place?

I meet over the phone, Skype or face-to-face 3 times a month or as agreed, to maintain a client's momentum towards the future they really want. In-between meetings, I am available for short email check-ins and consultations.

  • Mindset change

Current focus

I want to work in Education leaders and with undergraduates who seek to excel in studies, whilst preparing for life after graduation. Measured track record of success includes: Out of 15 School of Law final years in 2019, 12 graduated with a 1st and 3 with 2:1.  All are grounded in their values and making their way into chosen career paths. I remain their cheerleader.

Client testimonials

"Joe has been excellent coach for me since I hired him 2.5 years ago when I had some serious personal issues. He helped me through the difficult period and now I meet him every 4-6 weeks for a few hours walk & talk. I always look forward to the sessions with Joe, the dialogues are very good, I value his insightful questions and wonderful observations and reflections. I wholeheartedly recommend Joe as a life and/or executive coach."

"I was able to think through and explore issues that were taking up both my time and my energy. By having a personal coach, I was able to address the parts of my role which I had avoided addressing. Our sessions helped me to explore my limiting beliefs. I would not hesitate to work with Joseph in the future."

"We explore what I can do to change a situation that is not good for me, consider my alternatives and how I can go about making those changes. You help me get a true picture of the whole situation..."

"… have performed excellently and grown in confidence. They are first class students.”

"Joseph is indeed, a great mentor and is committed to helping you achieve whatever goals you set for yourself. I would therefore, use this opportunity to enthusiastically endorse Mr. Joseph Ogbonna for your coaching and mentoring needs."

“… teaching me to prioritise my values in life. Moving at my own pace without comparing myself to others and focusing on my progress by itself has improved my stress levels and allowed me to be more certain about my goals. I also gained advise on editing my CV and cover letter.”

“… challenged to think outside of my comfort zone which at times is very uncomfortable, however the insight this has given me into myself in terms of career, social life, my place in society and my family – even around my values – has and will remain invaluable”

“…more confidence in my beliefs and what my core values are. … what kind of person I am and what I want to achieve. Also, I am more outgoing and open to people than before and less introverted.”
