About me

My Approach.

Moving towards solutions is better than moving away from a problem.

I believe that the principle aims of Life Coaching are threefold:

1) Helping you to see your life in focus and reminding you of your achievements.

2) Helping you to heal from your mistakes and empowering you to learn from your disappointments.

3) Encouraging you to develop invaluable qualities from within yourself; to take your life to the next level.

My approach involves initially beginning with a Life Balance Wheel which designates the eight key topic areas of a person’s life i.e. Health, Finances, Personal Growth/Spirituality, Fun/Social Life, Partner/Relationship, Career/Business, Friends/Family and Physical Environment. I then ask you to number each of the eight areas out of 10. After discussion and through gentle questioning we decide the scores and the topic with the lowest score/s, this is the ‘Topic/s’ we will focus on in our work together. We then work on the GROW model designed by Sir John Whitmore which looks at Goals, Reality, Options and Will. This can be broken down into three stages:

1)     Beginning – Topic and Goals.

2)     Middle – Goals and Reality.

3)     End – Goals, Reality and Will.

I reframe the goals over the course of the sessions to a SMART goal (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound.) There is no absolute time scale as to when the work is concluded and the pattern may be repeated with a further topic or we may work on the maintenance and gradual improvement of a topic area previously transformed through our work together. Short homework’s are also set for the next session. Incisive questioning is used by myself during each coaching stage. This tool has also proved invaluable for clients in terms of work/life balance.

Use of further Life Coaching models.

Alongside the Life Balance Wheel, I work with The Wheel of Achievement. This also has eight topic areas and we work again on providing a numbered scale out of 10. The 8 areas are as regards your feelings as to the qualities of taking responsibility, being honest, decision making/taking action on your decisions, having a positive attitude, taking risks, your levels of intuition, making choices and having faith in your eventual success. The Wheel of Achievement encourages you to develop unique qualities within yourself and to elevate your life to the next level. I project and promote the eight values in order to help create the desired change that you are pursuing.

Alongside the TGROW model I also use the STRIDE model (Strengths, Target, Real situation, Ideas, Decision and Evaluation.) Incisive questioning is provided throughout each coaching stage in this model also.

This list of models is by no means exhaustive as I aim to provide a creative coaching experience throughout our sessions.

The mentoring provided through the vehicle of the above models has aided the personal development of my clients and combats stress and depression through increasing the inner inexhaustive resources of motivation and energy within. This also enables you to provide clear and beneficent leadership for others also.

I also promote the ideas of self-love and self-esteem throughout our work together and spirituality is a topic that is often discussed in sessions.

It is often found that the answers lie within.

About me.

As for myself, I am the creator of ‘Confidence Matters’ coaching business and a professional member of ‘The Association for Coaching’. As mentioned previously, I work intensively with clients to meet their goals, whatever they may be. I am committed and passionate as regards enabling my clients to realise their potential. My extensive knowledge in my coaching areas provides me with an assuredness in the quality of my sessions. I am able to ensure the clients achieve what they are fully capable of through due care for the clients’ independent requirements.

I offer a quality service to quality clients and I truly enjoy helping myself and others achieve their goals! I have a regular set of clients and I have been able to achieve the highest levels in a variety of areas throughout my own life. I have had and have excellent relationships with my clients.

I also work on clear goal setting for myself - for example, I recently wanted a river view apartment in central London with a panoramic view of the river including St Paul's.

I am constantly learning, partaking in courses all over the world and my coaching is the distillation of the best knowledge I can pass on from the last 20 years of my life.
