About me

I am in the service of my clients for optimal mental well-being and improved performance in business and life. My approach is underpinned by models of coaching grounded in both established adult learning and psychological frameworks. I stand shoulder to shoulder with you as we inquire into the coaching issues together, providing the necessary amount of support and challenge as we meet your goals.

Psychological & Performance Coaching
The notion of ‘knowing thyself’ has vexed the wisest of human minds for millennia. In the rapidly changing and challenging world of the 21st century, the importance of seeking greater mastery and a deeper knowledge of the self is an essential quality for successful living. I invite clients to get to know themselves better through working collaboratively in the coaching relationship. Establishing greater self awareness is the precursor to personal growth and development. From this resourced state of being we have the potential to operate with courage and confidence, allowing us to perform more consistently at our best in an ever changing world.

Psychometric & Psychological Assessments
I am qualified by The British Psychological Society to facilitate psychological & psychometric assessments at both Level A (Occupational, Ability) and Level B (Occupational, Personality). It means there are a wide range of assessments available, relevant to occupational and educational settings and for multiple purposes including, but not limited to, candidate selection & personal development.

A personality assessment used in co-ordination with a program of coaching can be a very effective tool for developing self awareness. It can deepen a clients understanding of their typical or preferred style of going about things, such as interrelations with colleagues, typical thoughts and feelings, decision making processes and what might be their standard approach to managing activities. When completed honestly and openly, the results provide insight into the sorts of environments and tasks that most suit an individual’s personality and therefore, in which they are most likely to succeed.

The NEO PI-R3 is internationally recognised as the ‘gold standard’ instrument with which to measure personality. The qualification is verified by the British Psychological Society as well as being internationally recognised and aligned with the standards of competence defined by the European Federation of Psychologists’ Association.

Please make initial contact with me via email. We will then aim to arrange a convenient time for a phone call, where we will have a relaxed, confidential conversation. It provides an opportunity for you to share the issues you would like to bring to coaching and ask any questions. There is no charge for this initial phone conversation.

Master of Arts in Psychological Coaching, Metanoia Institute:

This is a qualification that facilitates learning for clients at a psychological depth. I use an integrative approach, using models of coaching from both established adult learning and psychological frameworks. It means clients can develop effective new skills and ways of being from interventions and techniques grounded in evidence. It also avoids the 'one size fits all' approach to personal development.

Test User: Occupational, Ability (Level A) British Psychological Society

This qualification allows me to assess and measure abilities, skills and knowledge.

Experience  -

For over ten years I have run a private practice. I enjoy working with a variety of clients and in particular those that present challenging issues for coaching.

Business coaching for corporate clients, including: Taylor Wessing LLP, Regus, World Club Travel, Fiduciary Settlements LLP, Naked Ideas, Hot Pickle, Buzz Bingo, Arriva.

Executive coaching contracts with corporate clients have included: working with senior talent for improved performance, developing confidence and skills of line managers and leadership development with senior partners.

I have also worked with over 100 coaching clients within the civil service. Providing psychometric assessments, developing talent/leaders and for one on one coaching sessions with clients that work in challenging, high performance environments.

I am experienced at working with clients that are presenting symptoms of stress. Primary goals include assessing well being of clients, building self awareness around the symptoms and impact of stress, creating appropriate techniques for improved well being and mental toughness.

Further information

As a youth I played football to a county and regional level. Over an eleven-year period I had nine knee operations that curtailed any serious sporting ambitions. In that time I developed mental toughness and resilience. The experience was a central source of inspiration to becoming a coach. I have a positive outlook, which is a clear influence to my coaching style.

In addition to my private coaching practice, I also work as an associate coach with Lane4 Performance, global leaders in change management and people performance

I have a personal interest in understanding and exploring the stages of consciousness and developmental psychology. Sources of inspiration in this field are Ken Wilber, Bill Torbett, Robert Kegan.
