You know that book you've always wanted to write? Or that play, film script, comic book… Maybe you need to write for work - articles and blogs - and you feel it’s a bit beyond you.
I can help you stay motivated, smash through blocks, find meaning in your writing and finish projects.
When I was forty-five I was unemployed and unemployable. Thanks to a life time of depression and social anxiety I was unable to take control of my life. I was desperate, so I was driven to do something completely different - and so very far outside of my comfort zone. I ended up signing on for a course in drama therapy and it changed my life. My depression and social anxiety plummeted and for the first time ever I discovered what it truly was to be confident.
Yeah, that initial step had nothing to do with coaching. But coaching has proved to be an invaluable additional step during my own journey. Coaching has proved invaluable to keeping me on track and helping me focus on what's important. It's helping me live my dreams as a writer and as a coach.
Coaching was one of the tools that helped me and I want to share it with others. I can help you overcome self-limiting beliefs, discover what's important to you and, most importantly, live your dreams. This isn't about pursuing the impossible. It's about recognising what's possible, which all too often is more than we realise.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have been coaching since I first signed on with The Coaching Academy in May 2015. I qualified in 2016.
I have been writing for many years - badly and without learning anything!
For the past several years I've been writing so much better and am working with an independent producer developing ideas and scripts.
I'm continuing to learn about coaching, writing and myself. I have trained in improv with Hoopla and The Nursery in London, and with iO West in Los Angeles.

'As someone who has never been coached and previously been somewhat sceptical of the the benefits, my view on the process and the results have been transformed. Jane has helped turn me from a writer who was lost, unproductive, and plagued with doubt into a writer blessed with the direction, commitment, and confidence required to find the fulfilment I really need from this creative pursuit.' CJ
'Jane's coaching was inspirational. Her coaching led me to investigate ways to develop my writing skills, to look within and to find my motivation. Her questions opened up new avenues of thinking. Se has helped me to pursue my goals and to journey further along the path of writing." K.L.
"Jane is a fantastic and natural coach.
I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was a child but never finished anything in my adult years. I’ve had no confidence in my style and was in fear of loading the stories that I attempted with cliché. I did like some of my ideas but lacked the faith to develop them. I would start a piece when I felt inspired and then just left it.
Jane has a very easy and inviting way. Even though she is a published writer, I never felt inadequate or intimidated. She completely understood my low confidence, low output and time issues, and then offered a great mix of searching questions and the odd (and very welcome) tips and reassurances to help me start writing. She always had just the right amount of energy and empathy to match the mood I was in and didn’t shy back from asking tough or uncomfortable questions to move me along when necessary. With Jane’s help, I’ve overcome my biggest obstacles and have put measures into place to keep me writing even after our sessions have finished.
It may not sound like much, but in the last 3 months I have started a blog and written three blog posts, and I have published a short story on Amazon Kindle. I have had feed-back from friends and family that I’ve never thought possible, and I trust that others will like my work too. Though I know I still have so much to learn, I feel I can be a writer after all. Now, if I have an idea or an inspiration, I just start and have a go at it, without agonising and then abandoning it. And, very importantly, I no longer feel guilty when I take time to write, as I have more positive energy to still manage the rest of my life.
The enjoyment and satisfaction I feel by following my life-long dream is priceless, and I can’t thank Jane enough for helping me make it happen." S.E.
"Jane’s encouraging style and compassionate manner helped me feel comfortable and at ease from the outset. The creative exercises and tips were very useful; in facilitating me to shift my perspective and approach to writing website content. Jane provided a clear sounding board that helped me gain clarity and next step actions. The sessions also served as great accountability, in motivating me to review my progress before each session and clarify what I needed from each. Helping me keep me focused and on track. And creating momentum in progressing with my website content. Thank you for the sessions I appreciate your help. Wishing you continued success in your journey." S.
