About me

What should I do now?

Life today has a way of driving us into tighter and tighter spaces. We move faster and work harder, trying to keep up. As the pace quickens and the focus narrows, it’s hard to stay connected with others - and even with our selves. It can be tough to find the space to develop the skills we already have. It’s harder still to begin to notice the skills we have neglected for years and, patiently, to begin working on them.

But - life can also throw up opportunities to break this cycle. Things just happen – an unexpected promotion or a broken relationship, a new job or a retirement, a slowly emerging mood or a sudden epiphany…

Whenever the pattern of normal life appears to be shifting, it’s important to be aware of the possibilities on offer and to have the skills required to take advantage of them.

Integral Coaching can help to create that essential combination of awareness and skilfulness.

My role, with you, is to make it happen.

I work one-to-one with people either at their home or their work.

I offer coaching programmes designed specifically for you. We are all unique – and so I get to know your world, your challenges and your ambitions before designing a coaching programme tailored to your specific needs. Undertaken with support, kindness and commitment these programmes fit into your life, and address your goals. I support you in developing your own unique skills that can overcome the obstacles that are holding you back.

By addressing what really matters, this coaching can literally change lives.

I started my programme with, if I’m honest, some apprehension. This was soon lifted as I realised how easy Jamie was to discuss my issues with. He gave me realistic targets and skills to help me deal with whatever worries I had that day/week/month. I’m so happy with my progress and even though I finished the programme, I’m happy to say I’m still using these skills today. Jamie is professional, understanding and willing to help guide in whatever way he can, I can’t recommend Jamie enough.” English & Media studies Teacher

Working with Jamie has been an eye opening experience. Through the exercises he gave me, I began to know myself better, in a way I wouldn't have on my own. He asked me to address questions I wouldn't have considered. I started to identify patterns and feelings, and I began to modify how I approached my professional and personal commitments and relationships in a more constructive way. Most importantly, I changed my view of myself and my control over events in life. He is a great listener, very observant, thoughtful, thorough, and funny. It is an experience I highly recommend. Training, qualifications & experience

Associate Certified Coach (ACC)

Jamie worked as a professional actor for 15 years before becoming an integral development coach. Having worked with coaches in training workshops he was struck by the huge impact coaching can have on people. The pull proved too much and he re trained as a integral coach. He passed the rigorous, year-long, Professional Coaching Course, with New Ventures West was accredited by the ICF and began working with clients.

Jamie is the founder of Act One Development Coaching. Act One provides one on one coaching, corporate training workshops and supplies role play actors for training events. His work combines his skills in integral coaching with the techniques and experience he gained from his years on the stage. As an actor, Jamie knows that stepping out of the wings to take stage in a play takes courage.

“In my opinion, the only way to conquer stage fright is to get up on stage and play. Every time you play another show, it gets better and better.” - Taylor Swift

Jamie tries to help and support his clients to get onto that stage and trust themselves to play. His coaching helps to support clients to see what they cant always see for themselves. Through development coaching he aims to help his clients to work towards their goals, giving them the confidence to take action. Together they find a way to grow beyond the obstacle in a way that is profound and lasting.

Jamie is currently working with BT on their Challenging Leadership in Action scheme, as well as running individual coaching programmes.

Member organisations

I offer a free discussion by phone or coffee shop. This chat allows you to get a flavour of the coaching and allows us both to decide if it's a right fit for you.

Coaching programmes are individual and so vary, as do the length and fees.

As a guideline - a typical programme is around £700  and would be  for a 6 month period and will include a free first session- in which I get to find out about you  and your topic - followed by 10 one to one coaching sessions.

Each session lasts between an hour and a hour and a half.

Between the sessions you will be given practices to take up which are designed to help develop new awareness around your coaching topic.

Our sessions will be held at a mutually convenient location for the client and coach. When it is not possible to meet face to face coaching may take place over the phone, or via the internet.

If you are interested in stepping into a new act of your life, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
