About me

I can work with you if you are looking for:

  • career coaching
  • personal development coaching
  • leadership coaching
  • help with anxiety, burnout or grief

It's great to have someone to talk to who can help you through the problems you're facing, or worried about facing.

If you're worried about the future, feeling stuck, unsettled, have to make a big decision or want to:

  • develop the confidence, self-belief and courage to succeed in your chosen career or business,
  • become less critical and stop beating yourself up, all the time,
  • get on with your life and stop over-analysing everything,
  • be able to focus on your strengths rather than feeling judged
  • stop comparing yourself to other people
  • be able to understand your colleagues better
  • improve or develop emotional intelligence
  • overcome imposter syndrome

then I can definitely help.

To do that I draw on a range of tried and tested tools and techniques that are right for the client.  I keep what you want and need at the heart of my coaching but I do not shy away from challenging you when necessary.  We'll also have a few laughs along the way.

I strongly believe that there has to be a point to coaching so I concentrate on finding a way to help you get as close to your desired outcome as quickly as you can.  Only you can make the necessary changes after all, but I do my very best to help you and I have a pretty good track record so far.

Just one or two sessions may be enough to get you moving, although I do also offer a number of structured programmes that help you develop lasting confidence and emotional intelligence, feel better and thrive.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been working as a coach for over 10 years and have coached hundreds of clients who run their own businesses or work at a senior level in professional service firms or the corporate world.  I am very warm, down to earth and pragmatic.  My coaching style gets results and is challenging but kind.

I have a MA in Coaching and Mentoring Practice from Oxford Brookes University (2014).  My dissertation topic was entitled 'An Exploration of Male Self-Confidence in the Coaching Context'.

I am a BWRT Level 2 Registered Advanced Practitioner (The Psychology of Identity and Behaviour) and recently completed the BWRT Transformational Coaching course (case study and accreditation underway).  BWRT is an amazing new technique which often allows me to help clients overcome their confidence issues and dissolve their problems very, very quickly.

I am also trained in the Emotional Capital Report, a brilliant way of understanding where and how you can improve your leadership skills.

Recent CPD includes courses on neuroscience and coaching, resilience and systemic coaching and Warriors, Settlers and Nomads, a behavioural profiling technique that allows fantastic insights into why you often act the way you do, and can allow change to happen quickly and effectively.

Prior to coaching I had a successful career in international telecommunications finance, working for Cable and Wireless plc on major subsea cable and satellite projects.  I then spent 10 years running successful joint ventures.

I am a retired Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and have attended executive development courses at London Business School and INSEAD.  I have a Combined Honours degree in French and Spanish from King's College, London.  I am also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Don't let all that academic stuff put you off - I am also a keen Liverpool fan, like spending time with friends and family and enjoy a glass or two of wine in front of the telly.
