Jack Jacobs - Empowering The Next Generation
I help young people to feel empowered by building self-awareness and resilience. I work with 18-30-year-olds, providing a confidential, comfortable and non-judgemental space where young people can be open and honest about what’s on their mind.
Making an impact is at the heart of everything I do; it's my fuel; it's what drives me.
In 2012, after spending two and a half years of excessively losing weight and destroying my relationship with food, exercise and my body, I ended up at anorexia's death door. After months in and out of the hospital, weigh-in after weigh-in, check-up after check-up, I decided to pull myself out of the mental health unit to embark on my own journey to recovery. Three months later, I ran a 10KM in support of Beat - the UK's largest eating disorders charity. Six months later, I ran a half marathon and shared my story on BBC Radio 1. Nine months later, I shared my story on national television, ITV Good Morning Britain. Twelve months later, I was presented with the national media campaigning award at the House of Commons by Beat.
?I spent the next six years on a self-directed recovery plan to defeat an incredibly destructive illness that took my mind and body to places I would never have imagined of reaching. While in recovery, I joined KPMG, and at the same time partially completed the ACA qualification with the ICAEW, and a degree in Accounting and Finance with the University of Durham. In 2015, alongside my work and studies, I launched my first venture, The Instinctive Investors, a social-educational platform that connected finance, business and economics university students through knowledge sharing. After leaving KPMG in 2017, I went onto run the Amsterdam Marathon, close my chapter with anorexia and make a full recovery, work with Centrepoint as a street fundraiser, build a boutique design, development and consulting agency for early-stage startups, speak and facilitate inspirational talks and workshops at organisations of all shapes and sizes, mentor students, and launch my private coaching practice.?
I am now fully recovered, a qualified coach, member of the Association of Coaching and solely run my private coaching practice targeting individuals aged 18-30 years old, and deliver inspiring talks and workshops around mental health, personal development and entrepreneurship at schools, universities and organisations of all shapes and sizes.

"Jack helped me identify and clarify areas in my life that I’m not aware of and supported me in creating a plan that enables me to stay on track, be motivated in order to reach my goals. The sessions empowered me to see how things are truly simple when we tend to over-complicate them in our heads and thus tends to keep us back from seeing our own values and from progressing in our life, so through the sessions, I was able to shift my focus on exercising over the events that take over my life. Knowing that there’s someone that I can go back to who actively listens to what’s going in my head and life, in general, gave me peacefulness and well being in my journey."
"Jack has been a major part of my achievement to date. From the point of having my introduction session where I was telling Jack how I couldn’t get out of bed to now be in a position where I am growing in all my prioritised areas of life and have achieved goals I didn’t see myself achieving for another 3 years, should in itself speak volumes. His structured approach support and guidance is something I consider truly rare to come by and would highly recommend him as a coach, and mentor. “ A good coach is someone who can make their players see what they can be rather than what they are “ - that’s what Jack has done and is continuing to do for me."
"My life had been torn apart because of bulimia - no self-love, no motivation, no desire going forward. And Jack turned it around for me, completely. Our initial connection was done via LinkedIn. Despite the abruptness of how I reached out to him. His response was unexpectedly warming and very positive. I told him my story and struggles. He said no more than ‘we’ll get you through this’. He maintained weekly phone contact with me for an entire year. Each one lasted for an hour, sometimes two. Jack has always been working on multiple startup and personal projects, yet, he placed me on his priority list. Because he’s gone through it so that he knows. And because he knows, he really cares. And the caring and thorough understanding enabled him to analyse and break down my ‘issues’ properly. In the beginning, I was in a state where ‘I see no end’, like crippling in the dark. Jack turned on the light and helped me to stand. He was a great listener who always had an answer. Whenever I was falling apart, he managed to glue me back together. He’s the most driven and aspiring individual I’ve encountered so far, you may also call him insane because he believes in ‘no limit’ and what’s more crazy is that he actually empowers you to think the same. I now progressed into my final year at LSE, having completed a list of things that I wouldn’t dare to think about a year ago. Well, I guess that’s just because there’s no limit."
"Jack is an exceptional listener and allowed me to explore my mental strengths and weakness further. Whilst working with Jack he made me realise what I thought was complicated was actually quite easy and thus I cannot recommend anyone else more than Jack! A brilliant professional is who is dedicated to his craft."
"Jack is a truly warm, kind and talented individual. I had the privilege of meeting Jack in Aberdeen when our society invited him to deliver a talk on Mental Health. Not only did he deliver a truly motivating, inspiring and interactive talk but he also offered us a free 1-1 coaching opportunity which I made sure to make use of. Three coaching sessions later and I can say with confidence that Jack is a remarkably good listener, coach, friend and professional. It has been an amazing experience which unfolded slowly but steadily after each session and was wrapped up so delicately, putting my thoughts in absolute harmony at the end."
