When we think about coaching and mentoring, we tend to think specifically about something that we want to change, be that our career, how we feel about our self-image, our income, etc. This call to action and the selection of a coach/mentor can all feel a little bit daunting. As a result, some of us decide, now is the right time to think again. Why do something today when we can put it off to tomorrow, or would next week sound even better? Perhaps there is a good reason for this hesitation. And, perhaps this hesitation arises from the uncertainty as to what we really want.
If this is the case, wouldn't it be good if we could inject a pause, a short space of time when we afford our self the luxury of exploring what success really means. How empowering could this be? As a coach and mentor, I have worked with many people who have found that this pause can help in discovering more about themselves. From this position, we become more able to make the transformation we desire through better life and career choices.
For me, I have enjoyed a good career in the corporate world. Albeit for most of that time, I recognised that there was something missing in my life. That something was me! I now use my personal experience of exploring what success really means as well as that gained from coaching and mentoring to help clients achieve the transformation they seek.
